Things in the castle slowly went back to normal or well as normal as they could get with Catherine dead many in the castle slept better at night, Mary most of all but that could also be that she slept in bash's arms every night.
A week after Catherine and Condé died bash Received word that Sally's family wanted nothing to do with the little girl since they would not be able to touch the money her father had till sally was of age to inherit it thanks to Mary who locked it away. Once he read the letter bash marched to the gardens where Mary and her ladies sat talking Kenna and Mary whispering and giggling while Lola and Greer rolled their eyes at them and giggled with them.
He walked up behind them "and what prey tell is so funny?" He asked
They looked up and all four girls started giggling again leading bash to really wonder what they had been saying. Kenna as always the forward one winked at her ex husband "oh my darling bash we where just talking about what a good man you are." She said giggling
Mary giggled along with Lola and Greer.
Bash rolled his eyes "please keep those stories only between yourselves I have no need of the rest of the castle knowing my private life." He said
They all started giggling again
Bash chuckled
Mary sobered up and looked at her fiancée "is everything alright bash?" She asked
He handed her the letter and she read it her hand going to her mouth in shock "dear god are they really only concerned for Sir Richards money and lands?" She asked.
He nodded solemnly "they want nothing to do with her if they cannot access her money and property." He said
She shook her head angrily "those retched people!"
Everyone present agreed with the angered queen. She looked at bash "does sally know?" She asked
"Yes I'm afraid she received her own letter and it was not pleasant she has been crying since." He said sadly.
Mary stood and marched towards the castle, everyone followed to see what she would do. Mary walked fast towards the children's play rooms. She opened the door seeing Henry and Charles playing quietly and one of the governess's comforting sally. She moved over and bent down by them "sally"
She sniffles looking up "yes your grace?" She whimpered
Mary opened her arms to her "it's just Mary to you come here sweetheart bash told me what happened " she said
Sally shot over into her arms and Mary held her close rubbing her back gently. Sally broke down again
"Why does no one want me?" She whimpered
Mary held her tightly "those people are selfish and mean but it's not your fault sally not at all they're greedy people that don't deserve you." She whispered softly
Sally cried "now I have no one!"
"That is simply not true" she said and pulled her head back looking in the little girls eyes "you have uncle bash and you have me, you have Kenna and Lola and Greer little Henry, and Charles and even the dauphin himself you are not alone sweetheart " she said softly
Sally cling to her "please don't make me leave!"
"Never darling never " she whispered holding her she looked back and saw her ladies and bash in the doorway. Bash smiled at her his eyes shining in love. Mary picked up sally and walked over to bash who put his arms around them "sally you have a family me and uncle bash will be your family." She said
