Chapter eleven

Mary looked at bash and kissed his cheek then walked over to the king bash at her side with Francis and Lola joining. Narcisse stood with them to show a United front as the king began to speak a few people moving into place.

"My guests and my friends the time has come to right a great wrong and punish a man who has caused hundreds of not only Protestants their lives but also Catholics. John knox is a criminal not only wanted by France and Scotland but England as well and while Queen Elizabeth could not be here tonight due to a situation in England she is here in spirit and we are united in this act of justice." King Henry started

Everyone stood enraptured by the kings words not a person spoke as he commanded everyone's attention.

"Now I ask that Mary Queen of Scots and her future king of Scotland say a few words." He said

Mary stepped forward with bash her arm wound around his an air around her and him that he has learned from watching his father and she has learned as her long life as queen.

"John knox cost many their lives and few even fought with my fiancée Sebastian to protect not only Scotland but England and France tonight we see those lives avenged. Let there be no mistake we do not take joy in taking a mans life but that in this act many people both Protestant and catholic may now sleep in their beds without fear of the so called man of god!" She said

Everyone clapped and bash kissed her forehead looking out at the crowd then John knox who was now kneeling before the headsman's block "not that you deserve it but may god have mercy on your soul and may you face the many souls you so wrongly took from this world in your so called crusade." He said

John glared at him and they both stepped back a guard pushed him over the block and Henry gave the nod the headsman brought his axe up and watched as he brought it down in a precise and targeted swing severing John knoxs head from his body. The crowd didn't cheer but everyone couldn't help but feel the relief that swept through the room as the leader of the rebels met their fate on earth and left to face god for his many crimes.

Henry looked at everyone "please enjoy the rest of the feast their has been accommodations made for those that do not live in the castle. Stay, drink, eat, and have a wonderful night." He said and left the room with Kenna at his side.

Mary looked at bash "take me to bed my feet are hurting " she said softly

He smiled "with pleasure my queen," he looked at Francis "make sure sally gets to bed?" He asked

Francis nodded "of course now get her off her feet ." He said waving them on.

Bash grinned and lead Mary out of the hall before scooping her up and going to their chambers for the night. Things where starting to fall in place.

Bash lead her instead of their rooms out to the gardens where a small picnic set and Mary smiled holding onto her fiancée. She kissed his cheek as he set her down and sat next to her. She looked around at the perfectly manicured garden and she wondered what her fiancée had planned with this move.

She looked up at him and saw him smiling warmly watching the stars she curled into his side watching them with him "this is nice."

"Yes it is." He said softly "I'm thinking we should make it a regular thing just one night a week or a month we just sit out and watch the stars enjoy each other's company maybe when the baby is here we can have a family picnic added to it and take the baby and sally to the lake." He said

Mary looked up at him "I would love that bash, being with you has made me happier than I can say but being a mother is my life's true joy. How Catherine and my mother got it so mixed up I will never know."
He smiled wrapping and arm Around her "speaking of someone seems to be getting along with her future mother In law now." He said
