Mary waited for the knock in the secret passage to her rooms she paced in-front of the fireplace bash, Francis, and her brother watching worried none of them knew her plan but she knew it would cause strife when the man came in the room. The knock saw Mary rushing to the secret door and push it open she curtsied allowing the men in her room to see who was at the door.
Narcisse looked into the room and immediately all three men Stood. "Mary you can't be serious." Francis said.
She looked at him and offered her arm to Narcisse leading him over to the other "I am completely serious no one not even my ladies know this Narcisse and I reached an unexpected understanding after I found out I was pregnant." She said
He stood by her "after Elizabeth left I found Mary in a corridor of the castle clutching her fiancée's coat after the king had announced they thought the soldiers had been lost at sea and I myself knowing the pain of losing a spouse we bonded platonically of course but all the same." He said
She looked at her brother, fiancée and ex husband "I asked you here because I am going to announce him as my regent I know I can trust him he is many things arrogant, rude, and a down right ass at times but he is also something else ." She said earnestly "bash and Francis you undoubtedly have your problems because he is an ass but he is also loyal to France to its future king and queen and seeing as I am that queen and also his friend he is loyal to Scotland and there is no one better to beat Marie de Guise at her own game than one who has went against and beat Catherine de Medici. Scotland needs someone who will not be browbeaten into accepting Marie's rule in secret and I can think of no better man until I am fit to rule with my husband."
Bash and Francis shared a look and bash stood moving to her cupping her face in his hands "are you sure?" He asked softly
She smiled at him "I have only ever been more sure about you darling Narcisse is a lying, manipulative asshole but no one can ever call him a traitor he is loyal to France always and by extension it's king and queen and by our friendship Stephan is loyal to me." She whispered softly "I only wanted to ask your opinion because you are my king."
He smiled lovingly "ok then I'm behind you on this always."
Francis watched them "I've already declared my support publicly but Mary if you really think this is best I will support it personally too and again tonight at the feast."
She smiled and kissed bash's then Francis's cheek and turned to look at her brother who sat their thoughtfully. "You think he is up to the task that is Marie de Guise?" He asked
Mary smirked and looked at Narcisse than James "there is no one better to play Marie at her own game then Stephan Narcisse."
