Ch4: confusion and chaos

Meiling's pov:

The next day went pretty well and I was just about to go home when I realized I had to submit my assignments the next day, so I had to take them out of my locker. I was passing by mine and Shancai's locker when I saw a very angry Daoming Si yelling at Shancai.
Daily Mingde business, nothing new I thought.

I would have really interfered but I had no intention to face that Daoming Si again, I was just closing my locker when I saw someone familiar arguing on Shancai's behalf, as I got closer as I saw-

Kevin.

It was Kevin.
What was he doing here?!

"Hey kid, I'm telling you stay away from her, or else I'll do the unthinkable!" Daoming Si was arguing with Kevin

"Oh yea, I won't stay away from her, she's my "girlfriend" so you stay away from her." Kevin said crossing his hands in front of his chest

"KEVIN!!!" I yelled and all three heads turned towards me as I walked towards an infuriating Si and the other two

I went and smacked Kevin real hard on the back of his head, "what are you doing here? And why are you saying Shancai is your girlfriend?!"

I turned to Shancai and asked her
"Shancai what is all this?"

"Mei...me and Kevin are just friends, he's helping me get an internship at Go Foods, Ah Si here is exaggerating everything!" Shancai replied.

Go Foods? Wait a minute Simon's company?
Why was in any reality, Kevin helping Shancai?

"Hey kid, stay away I'm warning you the last time!" Si yelled again

"You say I'm a kid when you clearly act and dress like one" Kevin huffed and retorted

Si was about to jump forward at Kevin, when he dodged him and I stood in front of him, my hands splayed outwards as a form of protection, "Si stop, yess Kevin will stay away from Shancai from now onwards" I said

"How do you know him new girl? Get out of my way!"

"He's my brother Si, calm down, and he's not dating Shancai"

"He's your brother? No doubt both of you are so trash at behaving yourselves. Hah" Si taunted

And had it not been for me pulling Kevin back, he would've definitely jumped forward and hit Daoming Si then and there.
"HEY! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH SI, YOU BETTER WATCH YOUR TONE NOW!"
Kevin said trying to fumble out of my hands, which I held tightly around him to avoid getting either of them hurt.

"Okay Kevin calm down, please." I told him and he turned around to look at me, I pleaded him he just stood there and in response just shook his head as a "fine" and got away from me.

"Kevin why are you helping Shancai? Not that I'm against you helping others, but I'm just curious." I asked
"Yes why are you helping her schoolboy? She doesn't need your help! And you are never allowed to date her!" Si interfered

"Oh god are we back to that again? Si shut up. Kevin just tell me why are you HERE?" I was so angry because of everything that happened in the past few days and neither of these new situations at the uni were helping to make it any better.

Kevin made his eyes as wide as possible let out a sigh and made his face that could almost be seen as innocent, " Jie, I was just wandering around the campus when I met Shancai and I started talking to her, she's in nutrition department and since go foods takes in freshmen interns from nutrition, research, culinary every year I just thought to give Shancai an offer that might help her. I was just being helpful. As I'm very helpful. We were just talking about that and I asked her if she would like to discuss it over coffee when this, this-" Kevin said gesturing towards Si's hair and I had to bite down my cheek in order not to laugh, "arrogant guy came here and started saying 'GO AWAY KID, YOU CAN'T DATE SHANCAI' ugh he was being so whiny, and so I just decided to play along." Kevin said with a smirk.
