Jonathan looked up at her with cold eyes. “Samantha and I are talking, if you would be as polite as to knock before you come barging in it would be very much appreciated” He looked at her with surging hate. She practically ran across the room and punched him hard in the face. By this time Samantha was watching the exchange through the door. When she saw Jonathan drop onto his knees as her mother drew off her belt she came racing out and went to save him. “No, Mother, don’t!” She screamed throwing herself between her Mother and Jonathan just as the first lash hit her. She screamed out in pain. Instead of stopping her mother simply continued. “If I want to beat your brother I will!” She screamed slapping and slapping again and again harder and harder. The screams echoing around the room. Suddenly they heard a deep voice from the doorway. “No, you will not” Their father strode across the room and grabbed their Mother in a tight grip around her neck. Their mother started to scream, and he put his hand over her nose and mouth. “Shut up” He growled quietly She whimpered and dropped the belt. He let go. “Get into our room and wait” he said angrily. Their Mother started to cry. “No, William, please no” She was shaking her head and backing away. “NOW!” he screamed at her. She screamed and ran into their room. He bent down next to Samantha and rubbed her back. “I’ll come back soon and make sure your okay” He said. “Jonathan look after her” He got up and picked up the belt and disappeared into his room. As he shut the door they heard the first scream, followed by the sound of a belt hitting skin. It continued the screams getting louder. Then they stopped for a few seconds. You could hear her pleading, and some shuffling. Then a slight scream and then more soft screaming, picking up speed and volume, the bed springs creaking as if they couldn’t take the weight... They all knew what that was. “Let’s not listen to this” Jonathan suggested as he picked Samantha up. He took her out onto the grounds, into the beach house. And set her down on the couch. He closed the doors and windows and shut off the lights to a small dim. Then he came and sat next to her. She was rubbing her back where her mother had beaten her. Jonathan started to undo the buttons on her blouse. “Jonathan what are you doing?” She asked as he pulled it off and threw it to the floor. He went round to her back and kissed all the bruises. Then he pulled the straps of her bra down slowly kissing her neck as he went. He undid the strap and threw it down with the shirt. Samantha started to get the idea, but for some reason, she didn’t object the way she should of... It was amazing Samantha thought as it ended. She was surprised to find tears in her eyes and on her cheeks. They both smiled and panted for a while. “That was amazing Jonathan” She cried hugging him to her. Then he kissed her and stopped. They could hear the servants and their father calling for them. They got dressed quickly and ran outside. They crept into the side door and then went back up to Samantha’s room. Then Jonathan leaned out the window and shouted so they would know they were up there. They could hear their father rushing up the stairs. He came in and sighed, then held open his arms for them both. They ran into them and laughed contentedly
“I thought you were up here somewhere” He laughed. “Where’s Mother?” Samantha asked. “Oh, her.” He looked around the room before he answered. And made a disgusted face. “She’s in her room” He mumbled angrily. Jonathan looked up at him. Although he was not his father, He looked up to him. Apart from all the bad things like beating and then brutally raping their mother. He was his idol. Samantha walked out the room, across the hallway, and into her mother’s room. He mum was curled up, naked on her bed. All over her you could see the throbbing red welts that had been pressed into her arms, legs back, everywhere. And you could see the hand marks, where he had pressed her down to the bed with so much force when he had raped her. Her mother was sobbing hysterically into a pillow. And started whimpering when the door opened thinking her dad had gone back to inflict more harm. “William, please don’t” Her mother began pleading. “Its okay, Mother, it’s just me” Samantha reached out her hand to touch her mothers face. But her mother simply slapped her hand away. “This is all your fault!” She shouted in a whisper. “If you hadn’t been so insolent then none of this would have happened” And then her face turned ugly. “And if you hadn’t been born, your father wouldn’t love you more than me” She sneered her face clearly showing the jealousy in her heart. “And guess what?” Her mother asked her. Samantha stared blankly. “I’m going to make your life sheer hell for it”
