"Niichan," (Y/n) called across the table.
That night was like any other night, expect that the date left more blemishes than they could count. The day she was born, she was lucky to be born into a family which was lovable and supportive of their little girl. However, her birthday tonight would only include herself and her older brother, Sasuke, who sat across the table wearing a blank expression on his face.

The tired boy groaned at the sound of her little voice; "What do you want?" Sasuke asked.
He had been on a mission that morning, and had comed home only to stress about the dinner he had promised to make tonight. It was a must, a means to celebrate, but deep down (Y/n) knew that he didn't actually cared much.

"We-Well.." She was reluctant to ask, she always was. Growing up wasn't as easy as it was supposed to be- not when everyone expected so much from a young child. An only Uchiha; how could they not? For generations, the Uchiha clan had produced many fine shinobi. But, it all had come to an end not so long ago, when across the Uchiha's households loomed a raven shadow.
However, the simple fact that she was born an Uchiha meant she had to live up to the expectations of the clan. Teachers alike students expected so much potential from her, but looked at her confused when she appeared nervous suddenly. Of course their expectations of her would be confident, brave, and sharp, when it was really the scratching surface. She never had the support of anyone, and for that matter had to hold onto with her own nails and teeth in the crooked shinobi world, all five years of her life including today.
"Co-Could you- um.. could you.." She stuttered. Stuttering, it now came so natural to her that it was almost impossible to correct it, and it happened more than she liked.

Sasuke was annoyed by her lack of confidence, "Just say it already, I don't have all the time in the world," he told her.

The (h/c) haired girl looked down to her lap, having placed her chopsticks aside, and whispered "Could you tell me what oniisan was like?"

"Oniisan?" Sasuke asked, sparing her a glance across the round, wooden table their plates sat on. Their eyes met for a brief moment before her gaze shot downwards again. Sasuke frowned at the thoughts her question brought him; "It's late, and you have to go to the academy tomorrow; you should hurry and go to bed,"

"Hai," (Y/n) responded. Not a moment later, however, she called again "Um, ex-excuse me, niichan".

Sasuke left go of a deep sigh; "What now?" he asked, letting his attention be dragged down to the meal which he had worked hard to cook at that late hour, the same meal that (Y/n) had let half-eaten on her plate, cold and forgotten.

Her gaze was confident suddenly; her back straighten and her cheeks tinted a pink color. "As a birthday wish.."
She had heard stories at school, past stories, from a young man of the Uchiha clan. This young man was said to be a genius; having manifested the Sharingan at a young age, and having graduated the academy at only seven years old. Not only was he a genius, but he was from the same family as she was, which only gave her that much proudness when hearing the breathtaking tales. All of the teachers at school expected great things from her, which were overwhelming, yet exciting in a way she could not describe.
"..I want you to tell me about oniisan-"
