2023 New York

"We come to you now with revelations about last week's attack in London. An anonymous source provided this video. It shows Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, moments before his death. Warning. You may find this video disturbing."

"I managed to send the Elemental back to the dimensional rig, but I don't think I will make it off of this bridge alive. Spider-Man and the Sapphire Witch attacked me for some reason. They have an army of weaponized drones. Stark technology. Spider-Man is saying he's going to be the new Iron Man. No one else." Quentin Beck's voice rang through the news broadcast, and then the video switched to Amaya wearing the EDITH glasses.

"Are you sure you want to commence the drone attack? There will be significant casualties," EDITH asked.

"Do it. Execute them all." Amaya's voice responded, but Quentin had manipulated the footage. EDITH had actually asked her if she wanted to shut down all of the drones, not launch them to attack.

"The shocking video was released earlier today on the controversial news website TheDailyBugle.net."

Then the voice of Jonah Jameson could be heard.

"There you have it, folks. Conclusive proof that Spider-Man and The Sapphire Witch were responsible for the brutal murder of Mysterio, an interdimensional warrior who gave his life to protect our planet. And who will undoubtedly go down in history as the greatest superhero of all time. But that's not all, folks. Here's the real blockbuster. Brace yourselves; you might want to sit down."

The video switched back to Mysterio.

"Spider-Man's real...-Spider-Man's real name is...-Spider-Man's name is Peter Parker. And the Sapphire Witch? Her real name is Amaya Rogers. She's the daughter of Captain America and Femme Fatale." Quentin said. Peter was still on the lamp post while Amaya had lowered herself to the crowd before the crowds formed. She was standing amid a crowd of people.

Once the newscast started, she took her bandana off and put it in her pocket. She didn't know Mysterio was going to out them, and since, as the Sapphire Witch, nobody knew her face, she thought she would be safe.

She was wrong.

"What the..." Peter trailed off, and Amaya picked up on what he would say.

"...-Fuck!" She finished the statement as a car horn honked.

"That's right, folks. Peter Parker and Amaya Rogers. 17-year-old high school delinquents." Jameson said. Peter looked down from the lamp post and looked right at Amaya, which made her eyes widen, and it didn't go unnoticed by the crowd.

"She knows him." A crowd member said, and then Amaya was being bombarded with questions.

"Wait, are you the Sapphire Witch?"

"Are you Captain America's daughter?"

"Are you Spider-Man's girlfriend?"

When Peter saw one of the crowd members grab her, he quickly grabbed them and gently pulled Amaya into him. But, of course, when Peter jumped down into the crowd, that caused even more chaos. "Whoa, it's him!"

"Uh, whoa, whoa, whoa. Please don't touch her, sir." Peter said. Usually, Amaya would defend herself, but she was panicking, she was being bombarded with questions, and she could feel her phone vibrating like crazy. She knew all of the messages were from her parents and her brother.

"You're just a kid?" One of the guys in the crowd asked.

"You two murdered Mysterio?" A woman asked.

"No, we didn't murder him!" Amaya exclaimed.

"Come on, kid, let me see your face." A woman snapped as she tried to grab Peter's mask off of his face. Amaya jumped in to defend him this time, and her powers started to glow through her hands.

"Don't touch him." Amaya snapped at her, and everyone's eyes widened as she showed her powers. She didn't attack anyone, but she kept the glow there to make everyone back off. Peter moved the woman's hand away from him and wrapped his arm around Amaya as they started to walk out of the crowd.

"He hit me! Spider-Man hit me, and the Sapphire Witch threatened me!" The woman yelled. Once they were out of the crowd, Peter let go of Amaya and shot out a web to swing on while Amaya used her powers to launch herself in the air.

As Peter swung through the air, Amaya used her powers to stay by his side. "Okay, where are we gonna go?" Amaya asked.

"Your house? We were headed back to Brooklyn anyway." Peter said.

"It's probably not the best idea, but I bet my mom has already called Aunt May," Amaya said as Peter landed on one of the ledges of the bridge, and Amaya landed next to him. Both of their phones were vibrating like crazy. Peter answered Ned while Amaya responded to her brother.

"Maya!" He exclaimed.

"Christian, I don't know what to say!" Amaya exclaimed.

"What the hell! Where are you? Is Peter with you?" Christian asked.

"He is, and I don't know, I think we're on top of the Brooklyn Bridge maybe, but I don't think we are. I'm freaking out, Chris. Where's Mom and Dad?" She asked.

"You know I'm not at home. I just happened to see the news." Christian said, and Amaya rolled her eyes.

"Shit," Amaya said.

"Keep me updated; I love you," Christian said as he ended the call, and Peter ran back over to Amaya.

"Are you okay?" Peter asked.

"Considering the circumstances?" She asked, and Peter nodded his head. She didn't need to say much more than that.

"Hey, Peter! Amaya!" A voice shouted out. When they looked to their side, a skyline cart passed in the air; people recorded and took pictures of them. A helicopter was approaching them, and

"Babe, we can't stay up here; we have to go now. Look, we're closer to Queens. Let's just go back to your place, and I'll call my parents there." Amaya said.

"Okay, let's go through the subway," Peter said, and Amaya looked over at him.

"I've never navigated with my powers through the subway before," Amaya said.

"Alright, so hold on, and I'll swing us," Peter said. Amaya was a little nervous because subways were not that bright, but she trusted Peter, and since she didn't trust herself to navigate through the subway, she wrapped her arms and legs around her boyfriend, and he swung them off the bridge.

Peter used his web to lift the sewer lid that led into the subway, and they dropped down; the lid closed back on top of it, and Amaya kept her head tucked into Peter's neck as he swung them through the subway; she didn't feel the need to see the experience. Peter hopped out of the sewer first once they arrived in Queens, and then he grabbed Amaya's hand and pulled her out.

"Now I know I will never use my powers to navigate the subway." She said as she brushed herself off.

"Are you okay?" Peter asked, and she nodded her head.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm okay." Amaya said.

But honestly, she had no idea if they would ever be okay again after this.
