twenty one - "i watch you on the tv!"——
i buckled my belt as i stared at myself through the mirror. my nerves were through the fucking roof as i straightened out the tie around my neck that my mom forced me to wear.
it had been two weeks since my mother and i found out that my dad was cheating on her again, i found out that i have a kid sibling, and i confessed my love to ariana after she sucked the living soul out of me.
i basically hadn't left either ariana or my moms side in those two weeks; being my mother's support and spending time with ariana as we watched movies or some shit.
and today, my father and i were going to be driving to the town over to meet his other kid...or my little sister. i was fucking dreading it, but despite the fact that his life was literally falling apart, my father seemed happy that we were meeting.
i turned around from looking into the mirror, meeting my mom's eyes. "maaa," i whined, stomping my foot against the floor. "do i really have to wear this? i'm just meeting some little girl, why do i have to dress like i'm going to church or something?"
my mother narrowed her eyes at me and leaned forward, fixing my tie i thought it bought i had straightened already. "listen, i'm not happy about this either. but wether you like it or not, this is your little sister; you're family." she dusted off my shirt, smiling at the final product.
"plus," she took a step back. "that's a rich ass neighborhood and i want my baby to look cute." i groaned out of embarrassment and thee my head back. my mom only laughed and grabbed my cheeks, kissing my nose.
"i love you, prince. no go! and be nice like i taught you to be!" she patted my cheeks before pushing me gently towards the door. i grumbled before walking out the door and going downstairs, but not before telling her i loved her too.
i made my way outside and shut the front door behind me, squinting at the sun. my father already sat in his car on his phone, probably telling the other woman that we were just going to leave. he hung up after a few seconds and looked over at me.
i just clenched my jaw and walked to my own car. i had decided that i would just follow behind my dad to the home, because i don't think i could survive being alone with him in such a small space.
i had just opened the driver side door before i heard my name being yelled. i instantly smiled, recognizing the voice as my girlfriends.
i turned around to see her running towards me from her house, a big smile on her lips. i met her a little less than halfway, accepting her loving embrace. i immediately relaxed into her touch, wrapping my arms around her waist.
ariana hummed as she pulled back, scanning my body. "um, not that you don't look hot—because you do...but why do you look like you're going to church?" she smirked at me as i groaned.
"shut the fuck up, please!" i whined, hiding my face into her neck. "i don't wanna go!"
ariana slapped my back and pushed me away from her. "uh-uh, you shut up. now go. and be nice! oh, and come see me after like you promised me!" she yelled to me as she backed up without giving me a kiss.
