twenty five - bullies——
"here you go baby," my mom spoke softly as she handed me a bowl of soup. i mumbled a small thank you as i cuddled more into my blanket, scooping some soup into my mouth.
i had been home for about an hour, half of it being spent crying in my mom's arm. i told her what happened through choked sobs, and even though she said she was disappointed that i literally smashed someone's face in, she felt worried too.
my mom took a seat next to me and unpaused the show she was watching before i came home. i sniffed as i ate my soup in silence, watching the show with her.
a few minutes later the front door opened. i furrowed my eyebrows, thinking the only person it could be was my dad and i hadn't seen him in a few days. my eyes widened as i heard the clacking of shoes against the hardwood, finally remembering that i legit left my girlfriend at school.
"y/n malarky junior, what the hell is wrong with you? i had to call up vic and ask her to turn around and come pick me up! oh, hi mrs. malarky." ariana came in basically yelling but quieted down when she saw my mom at the couch.
i looked up at ariana as i placed my spoon in the bowl. "i'm sorry. i just forgot." i shrugged. ariana raised an eyebrow, popping her hip.
"girl, you forgot? how do you forget me?" she rolled her eyes and put her hands on her hips. she suddenly frowned and slightly tilted her head, staring at me. "hey, what happened?"
her tone was more soft as she walked over to me and took a seat on my lap, moving the soup out of my hands. my mom patted my shoulder as she turned off the tv and walked out of the room, leaving us alone.
i leaned my head against ariana's chest as she stroked my hair. "i'm such a dumbass. coach found out about pete and he suspended me." i mumbled into her shirt, wrapping my arms around her.
ariana sighed, tilting her head back. "fuck!" she whispered. "i'm sorry."
i hummed, looking up at her. "it's okay, it's my fault anyway. just looks like you don't have a big and strong basketball girlfriend anymore." i joked, rolling my eyes.
ariana rolled her own, lightly smacking my cheek. she stood up and grabbed my hand, pulling my with her. "c'mon. let's go up to your room and we can talk up there."
i nodded, happily taking her hand and letting her lead me to my bedroom. ariana closed the door behind us as i tugged off my shirt and flopped into my bed face first.
ariana giggled as she walked around my room before getting into bed, taking me by surprise as she straddled my hips. "i'm giving you a massage. you're too tense." she whispered, leaning down and pressing a kiss below my ear.
i yelped as she squeezed lotion on my back, making her laugh. she rubbed it in as she gently massaged my muscles.
"can you just talk about something? anything?" i asked, turning my head so my cheek rested on the pillow.
——
i closed my eyes as ariana laid on my chest and rubbed her hand down my stomach. "is there any way you can squeeze your way back onto the team?" she asked softly.
