The Guide of Argos

Chapter 4

***Falcon POV*** 

Falcon couldn't believe what was happening as he heard a boom behind him. Sirens begin to waver in every direction as everyone panicked for the bomb shelter.  Falcon tried to see what is going on when he stopped as he already knew the answer. For years the Dutchy of Alormad has conquered more and more of the Kingdom of Lapis until finally, the goblin king surrendered to the Duke, having forced him to give up all the land beyond the Cheppse valley(it's the land between the first and second rivers). It seems now the Duke hasn't had enough and is now sending his army to conquer the rest of the Goblin Kingdom. Falcon felt something hit his head and he lost consciousness."Hey, Falcon are you all right?"A voice came through in his mind but all he is wondering is how the heck did he get here. He tried to walk but something stopped his legs. A voice said"Inject him with the nerve toxin" 'Nerve toxin!?' he thought anxiously before a second voice, this one a female one told him. "Don't worry" she told him"this is just to clear the virus from your body."Up until now, he felt some kind of external force control his body like he was being possessed somehow. She took him to a strange underground city that the thought he heard about only in legends. He felt a weird chill go over his body but it was sunny out. He got up and started demanding answers"Where am I ?"What is this place?" he asked."This is Etherthly keep, the HQ of the Guardians Eight. Falcon got very curious and started exploring the keep. He noticed stone walls but didn't hear the wind blow. It is made of stone bricks that line every single space in the keep. He's led to his room by two burly-looking, stern-faced men. It was clear that they weren't trying to guard him, but that they also wouldn't let him leave this place either.

His room is rather plain compared to the rest of the fortress, with it only featuring a bed and a carpet. At about 13:40, the guild's leader, Argon went to visit him. It took all of Falon's determination not to yell at him, though part of his brain was determined to think of him as a potential ally and not an enemy. It didn't help at all. Argon entered the room and said"Hi" and then began to explain the situation. Falcon's listening intensely but all of it still doesn't make sense. Apparently, he is in grave danger, as multiple armies were now out looking for him to bring to their leader Argos. One of Argos'Dwarfs injected Falcon with the Nerovirus. If infected, the person can become immobile and after four hours will finally collapse. Falcon immediately got off his bed and tried to leave the room, but he felt a soft hand touch his shoulder."Don't go"a voice suddenly called out. It was the girl who helped him before. "Hi! my name is Myria. It's not safe out there. Monsters have surrounded Ætherthly Keep and we can't defend the surrounding areas any longer now."Falcon responded in a strong way by saying"I feel like even if it's not safe, I still have a duty I need to bring upon this continent and more importantly my friends. I feel that leaving them in moral danger is worse than keeping myself safe. "After saying that, he immediately rushed out of his room and out of the keep. Myria tries to run after him but Argon stopped her by saying"Don't worry, he has heard enough."

The keep was surrounded by dark oak trees that seem to have a magical feeling. He knows this because of an ability called Aura that he learned at the academy before escaping with Ileo. Up till now, he still worries about where she is but brushes that off as he's clearly seen she could defend herself. He sees a war party of Fire Goblins in the distance and remembers the time he went out with his father and never came back. He remembers it vividly. One day, his dad went hunting and decided to take Falcon along. Unfortunately, Falcon is only 8 years old at that time and was not patient, so he scared off all the animals. His father slapped himself in the face for this foolish and unwieldy idea. Suddenly, a bunch of Fire Golems ambushed them and his father told him to leave at once. Sighing, Falcon suddenly started to wonder if there was a chance his father was held captive and not executed as he and his family thought for a long time. Immediately he headed across the border but was stopped by a tall, skinny guard who inspected each of his weapons ferociously before allowing him access, however after crossing, he will have to take a Virus Test because the virus is breaking all over the kingdom of Lapis.

He went inside the testing center to find a creepy-looking, scary doctor, with creepy instruments lining the walls around him. He was forced to have a strange liquid injected into his mouth which stings like he's been bitten by a fire ant. He couldn't even open his mouth for a long time when the doctor suddenly said"Good, now my plans will finally come true."This doesn't sound strange at first but then his eyes started glowing a specific shade of dark purple. Falcon realized what this meant. He is a servant of the dark wizard. Nowhere, even here will Falcon be safe from the grasp of the evil mastermind. When the Doctor notices this he was smiling"Good "he said"Now my plans will spread like a disease now that I have the forsaken 'Chosen One' under my control. Now the "Test"  is actually a microscopic bug that infects the soul. "Suddenly Falcon couldn't feel a thing inside the dark and creepy lab. 

Suddenly, he felt his mind go somewhere else, not fainting, but in another universe, one where the pressure of the dark army and anything bad is removed. He didn't like this, however, as it's too peaceful so his mind decided to exit it but it suddenly couldn't. He sees a giant temple in the distance covered with gold and precious jewels. When he entered it, A knight in gold and silver armour approaches him."Sir Falcon, this is what the continent will be like in the future. As a piece of advice to you, you should wake up now and head start heading towards the city of Grimlasche in the KIngdom of Lapis. You will find your friends and a community that will help you on your way to victory against the tyrannical warlord. Don't worry, your body should be free now. Wake up and remember, everyone here is counting on you for this future. Good luck !" then the Knight and the whole universe disappears.
