Just Maybe

I watched as Kaveah clothed linny. Even if she were to turn into an animal. I learned that she can keep her different forms clothed even when she transforms into something different- which is hard for most, even if they did live long. I looked at linny in the mirror which caused me to look at my own dress.

I wore a black trained dress with a v-cut that showed my legs. The top was a halter top with no sleeves that had a silver belt which matched with the cape veil that came down to my waist. The inside of the dress showed a beautiful purple and I wore simple black heels that raised my height by a couple inches. The heels had a silver glitter that coated the black heels with dirty silver leaves design on the back.

Linny in front of me wore something similar because I wanted to match. She wore a black lace dress with a sweet purple headband. I had her wear silver necklaces and small heels to keep her comfortable. I chose to put her hair up into a bun but decided to leave a few strands of hair to become curls to frame her face. I chose to leave my hair out in its natural state- reason being I didn't want to deal with it.

I looked at both of us in the mirror and smiled at the sight. linny looked up to with her round gold eyes and a smile of her own. She used her hand to straighten out the dress and sighed.

"What's the matter, lin?" I questioned.

"I never thought I would wear these types of dresses." She had a sad look on her face but a small smile was still seen. I patted her head and gave her a smile of my own. I looked at Kaveah, she was just staring with a weird expression but it was only for a short while until she noticed I was looking.

"We're going to be late, my lady." As Kaveah opens the door and linny behind me. The butler was there waiting for me. He lifted his head and his eyes lit up a bit.

"I am here to-" I cut him off.

"Yes I know." I started to walk off slowly so he could lead.

He left us at a large and obnoxious door- decorated with gold- lots of gold. I bent down to fix linny's hair, then stood up to brush off my dress, and finally fixed Kaveahs suit before patting her shoulder and smiling. "Don't embarrass me, loves." I look both of them in the eye. I nod and Kaveah knocks on the door. Immediately the door opens and we all walk in. The inside is even more obnoxious than the outside.

"Welcome, Princess of Lailah, Scarlet Nyx." The King and Queen looked up from their conversation with a bright smile. Her eyes shining their light red color.

"It is a pleasure to be welcomed by their Majesties, the King and Queen." I said as I curtsy.

"You may rise." I did as I was told. I walked toward her, taking a seat of my own.

"I must say it has been a while since I have seen you or your family." The king laughed from his seat.

"Well we do enjoy our shadows and such." I smile.

"Ahh, yes, I heard of your," she took a second, "I guess servants. I must say it is quite impressive. I do dabble in a little of the dark arts. It is hard to keep control of so many souls, I learned. It is even harder if they may harbor some hatred. Do they, I mean, against your family?" I slightly narrowed my eyes but not long enough for it to be noticed.

"No, I simply took the right to hate me by giving them freedom." I etch boredom on my face. "Is there a reason I am here today, Your Majesty?"

"No, we just wish to talk. It has been a while since we had spoken to anyone in your family." says the king with a sullen look.
