chapter four. the kegger
ONE THING THE TWO GIRLS LOVED WAS TO BE FASHIONABLY LATE. By the time the two arrived, the sky started to fade into a dull black. A cool breeze had arrived earlier, bringing a shiver down their spines. Cordelia wore a lavender short-sleeved crop top, with dark blue denim shorts, and a teddy bear necklace. Marceline wore a baby blue short-sleeved shirt, along with light blue denim shorts. They both walked onto the beach and saw everyone laughing and drinking together, without a care in the world. It was rare to see the kooks, pogues, and tourons in one place not fighting over something stupid. This was one of the only moments where they were on the beach together in peace.
"Marceline!" Kiara called out, running to hug her best friend. "Are you two finally coming to hang with us tonight?"
Cordelia had a confused look mixed with condescending on her face. Marceline kicked her in the shin. "Ow, you bitch!" She cursed in a hushed whisper. "We would be delighted to," Cordelia corrected herself, her left eye twitching slightly.
"Come on!" As the two followed Kiara, they saw Sarah Cameron standing on the beach, talking to Topper. Sarah immediately noticed the two, waving with a big smile. Cordelia waved back, while Marceline just rolled her eyes.
There was always unsolved tension between Sarah and Marceline, which was weird considering Sarah was the nicest person on earth. They have this little passive-aggressive feud every time their group hangs out.
They were led over to the rest of the pogues, handing out drinks to desperate tourons in need of some stimulation on their trip. Cordelia placed her hands on JJ's shoulders and he immediately jumped back, and Cordelia burst out laughing.
"Jesus Cordelia!" Cordelia continued laughing, putting her hand on Pope's shoulder for support. "You scream like a girl in a horror movie about to die!"
