Chapter 22

Jessica pulled away.
"No james, I didn't come here for us. I need to talk to you, can I come in?,asked Jessica.

Jessica entered James's hotel room. Sat on a chair and said

" I know I don't  have any right to ask you this but you are my only hope.
On my way home just now,
I recieved a phone call.
The tests that they were running on Aunt Tina?
They found cancer. 
It's really bad James.
Elizabeth is broken up about it.
If you break up with her on top of what she is already going through. 
She might not recover.
She really loves you please don't hurt her".

"Are you asking me to pretend I didn't find out? Jessica, what the hell ?
Didn't you learn from the last time you did this?, you are roping me into your  web of lies and I don't like it.
Elizabeth is nothing more than a friend to me.
I don't love her", said James.

Gosh! You think this is easy for me? I am standing in front of the only man I have ever loved and is begging him to be with someone else", screamed Jessica in frustration.

Okay, say I do this? Till when? Cancer is not the flu Jess, you don't just recover.
She will get sicker and sicker until...... well you know. And after that, then I definitely won't be able to leave her, so what we get married?.
You are asking me to spend the rest of my life with someone I don't love, while the woman I love is always going to be next to her best friend?
I  can't do that. I am just getting used to the fact that I can't ever be with you", said James.

"Okay what if I leave?" Asked Jessica
 
"And go where jess?
You are working so hard and stressing out yourself for what?
You think Elizabeth is your friend?
A real friend will never do what she did.
If that is your idea of friends you need to get out more.

You live your life by one code, loyalty.
I get it, I can see your loyalty.
You being here, doing this right now? This is loyalty.
Where was hers when you asked of your best friend one favour and she stole me from you.

I know I had a part to play but she was the only one between the two of us who had all the information.
Now you are asking me to be loyal to Elizabeth.
Where was her loyalty to me when she robbed me of my entire further with you.
When she knew I was in love with you and let me kiss her thinking she was you.

I will leave.

It's not the same without you anyways, but I can't do what you want me to. I didn't understand it when you and Elizabeth did what you did to me so I can't do that to someone else", said James.

" I am heartbroken Jessica, not heartless. I will wait , I am leaving tomorrow but I will be back for your dad and Elizabeth's  birthday and I am leaving on the 19th. Liz will have come to terms with what's going on with her mom by then.
I will end all of this on the 19th of January no matter what.
It will be the last time you ever see me.
