Fuyumi could tell Shoto was nervous. It was quite obvious to her. The way he fiddled with the hem of his shirt. He was quieter than usual and he didn't seem to be able to stomach his Tamagoyaki. Half of it was left uneaten.
" Are you okay shoto?" Fuyumi asked, after they had finished cleaning up from breakfast. Shoto looked at her from where he was stuffing his school books in his bag in the kitchen. " Yes I'm fine, why?"
" You seem kinda nervous."
Shoto looked down, seemingly from shame. Fuyumi's eyebrows pinched with worry.
" I'm not, why would I be?" Shoto asked, zipping up his messenger bag.
Fuyumi sighed. Even after so many years, Shoto's lying skills had not improved.
" You know you can talk to me, Shoto, about anything."
Shoto didn't say anything for the longest time. And when he did, it was not the answer Fuyumi was hoping for. " I need to get to school Fuyumi, otherwise I'll be late." Shoto stood up. Grabbing his bag and slinging it over his shoulder. " But Sho-"
" See you later Fuyumi." Shoto said, not letting his sister finish. He walked out the door leaving a disappointed Fuyumi behind.

Shoto felt bad for leaving Fuyumi like that, especially after she had helped him through the weekend. But he hated the pitying looks she had been giving him. He hated the sad looks she gave him whenever he flinched. He hated them so much. That was why he had to leave so abruptly. It was just too much. He couldn't take it. At school he wasn't one to be shown pity. To his classmates he was the strongest in the class. He was the best.
He knew all that wasn't true. But it was nice to hear them say it. Shoto checked the time on his phone.
7: 33
Shit. He would have to jog to school now. His house was pretty far away from UA. He would take the train, but the train was even farther away than UA. So he would just jog. When Shoto finally made it to UA, he was panting and his fingers were tingling. He ignored it, far too worried about making it to class on time, then some weird feeling in his hands. He quickly walked to his class, pulling up the collar of his uniform shirt to hide the bruise his father had given him. He normally would have arrived at school an hour early, but he had had a nightmare last night and couldn't fall asleep for three hours after. He didn't mean to sleep in, but it really couldn't have been avoided. Shoto opened the door to his class. He froze when he felt several pairs of eyes on him. He felt like they were staring into his soul. He gulped.
" Todoroki, you're late." Aizawa's gruff voice told him, eyes full of annoyance. " Sorry Aizawa sensei. It won't happen again."
" I'll let you off the hook, since this is your first time being late. Take a seat now Todoroki."
Shoto did as he was told and took his seat in the back, face hot with embarrassment. He tried to ignore the glances his classmate sent him, some full of concern and others filled with amusement.
Shoto tried to pay attention in class but it was easier said than done. What was distracting him was the tingly in his fingers and he was feeling lightheaded.
It's probably because I didn't eat much. Shoto though, inwardly cursing himself for not listening to Fuyumi and eating his food. Shoto was an idiot sometimes.
" - it was so interesting. Sometimes I forget that we didn't always have quirks! I wonder what it was like back then, living in such an ordinary world. Do you think it was boring, Todoroki?"
"Maybe not to them. It was all they knew, so maybe to us it seems boring to us , but I don't think it was to them. Sorry that probably doesn't make any sense. I'm not good at explaining things."
" No, no!" Midoriya said quickly. " I understand, It makes perfect sense actually. Sense the people- Oh look were here!" Midoroya stopped his own mumbling, realizing that they had arrived at the cafeteria. Shoto was surprised he had interrupted himself, he never did that when he was rambling. They stood in line for their food. Midoriya got Katsudon, while Todoroki got his favorite cold soba.
" I was really surprised when you showed up late todoroki!" Uraraka said when they were well into their lunch. Shoto blushed and ducked his head so no one would see.
" If I may todoroki, it's very unhero-like to show up late. If you're going to train to be a hero, you must be at least thirty minutes early to class."
Shoto resisted the urge to sigh. He knew Iida was only trying to help, but sometimes it was really annoying. Shoto didn't answer, he continued to slurp his soba.
" Are you okay Todoroki, you look kinda pale." Uraraka asked, voice filled with concern.
" I'm fine." Shoto said simply. He wasn't fine. He was lightheaded, and his fingers would not stop tingling. It was as if they were asleep, but he knew they weren't. It felt a little different.

Shoto was doomed, he was done. Everyone was going to find out about his seizure, and they were going to laugh, and make fun of him. Or they were going to pity him. Or maybe they would see him as less of an opponent. Well, he was, since he had the control of a ten year old with his quirk. Shoto wanted to beg Aizawa to let him sit out. He wished he could tell him he wasn't feeling well ( which was true ) and that he didn't think he was up to quirk training. Because he wasn't.
Shoto felt even more frustrated and hopeless when he found out he had to go against Bakugou. He was definitely doomed.
Why did he go to school today again?
" You better use your fire this time, Icy-Hot. If you don't, I promise you, you will regret it!"
Shoto tried not to show his fear.
But he was terrified. He wasn't going to use his quirk, for the safety of his friends. So he would have to dodge Bakugou and tire him out. It probably wasn't going to work but it was his best bet.
If Shoto knew what was going to take place during that fight, he would have tried harder to avoid it.
Sorry about this chapter. It absolutely sucks! I made it in a rush, since my mom told me I only had 3 hours to write. And for me that is just not enough. So, sorry if its bad.
Anyway stay safe eat your greens, but most importantly eat some pocky!
