" You've never had ice cream before?!" Yells a shocked Kaminari, everyone looks at Shoto in surprise, well except Midoriya. He has a very sad knowing look on his face as he stares at his friend's, apathetic expression. Midoriya, Kaminari, Mina Sero, and Shoto, were currently making their way to the park to hang out after school. Shoto didn't know how he ended up hanging out with this group. He usually hung out with Midoriya, Iida Uraraka, and Tsu, the self proclaimed Deku squad. He never really talked to Mina or Kaminari. He talked to Sero and of course Midoriya. Shoto and Sero hung out in each other's dorms reading mangas together whenever Shoto was at the dorms.

But Shoto supposed change was good sometimes, and he should get to know his classmates better, maybe he should hang out with them more, and not just the Deku squad.

" You know what guys change of plans, lets go to Yura's Sweets!" Mina said, " Todoroki has to try ice cream! You haven't lived, until you've tried Ice cream!"

Is Ice cream that good? Shoto thought as they made their way to Yura's Sweets. " I think You'll like Ice cream Roki." Sero said suddenly coming up beside him. " It's nice and cold. Perfect for the summer. And I know how much you love cold stuff. I'm honestly surprised you haven't tried it yet." Shoto hummed in responds not sure what to say. He had heard people say Ice cream before and talk about how much they loved it, but Shoto had never really thought what ice cream was exactly. " My favorite flavor is rocky road, it's so good, you should try it when we get there." Sero rambled to Shoto. Since Shoto couldn't relate to anything Sero was talking about, he wasn't sure what to say. So he just hummed in response to almost everything and nodded now and then as Sero talked about Ice cream and his favorite and least favorite flavors. " We're here!" Mina yelled excitedly, as they stood in front of a cute small building, it had a sign saying Yura's sweets, with a girl ( Whom Shoto assumed was Yura ) Sticking her tongue out and putting a thumbs up.

As the group walked inside, they were hit by cool air conditioner which was a relief to everyone ( Except Shoto since he could regulate his body temperature ) since the hot air outside was making them feel as if they were cooking in an oven. " Okay so this is like, a self serve place, so if you want, let's say mango Ice cream you walk over here," Mina was explaining to Shoto, she walked over to a small machine to the far left of the building and pointed to it. " You can get it from here." She said, " But first you have to get a cup of course." Mina then walked over to the counter where you pay and grabbed a large cup, " And you press this button, and the ice cream comes out." Mina hadn't pressed the button, so Shoto assumed she didn't actually want that flavor. " So you get it?" Mina asked, walking over to a different machine. Shoto nodded and grabbed a cup. He wasn't sure which flavors were good and which ones were trash, so he just scanned over the names to see which one appealed to him the most.

Coffee, Coffee Candy, Strawberry, Strawberry Cheesecake. Shoto went over the names in his head though nothing seemed to appeal to him. " Need help picking a flavor?" Midoriya said suddenly standing by Shoto. Creep Shoto couldn't help but think. "Uh-huh." Shoto answered, handing his cup to Midoriya's waiting hand so he could choose his flavor. " I think you'll like Oreo Cookies 'n' Cream." He said walking over to where the flavor was. Midoriya filled Shoto's cup confident that he would like the flavor. Once everyone paid for their ice cream, they sat down and began to eat.

As Shoto grabbed his spoon he realized everyone was looking at him. " What?" he asked, as he put his spoon down. " We want to see your reaction dude." Kaminari said, still staring at Shoto, as if Shoto was going to take a quick bite so no one could see his reaction.

" Oh, okay." Was Shoto's only answer. He picked up his spoon again, and took a hesitant bite.

Shoto's eyes grew wide and his lips pulled back into a cute smile. " Whoa," Everyone breathed. " It's really good." Shoto said, when he had swallowed. " Your smile is so cute!" Mina squealed, " You look legit like an angel!"

" Yeah dude, you should smile more often. You do look like an angel." Kaminari said, smiling. Shoto felt a blush form on his cheeks. He looked down and continued to eat, muttering a small thank you. Everyone laughed at Shoto's flusteredness, having never seen him in that state before. Shoto decided that ice cream was now his favorite dessert, and maybe when he went to see his mom he'd take her some, and they could eat it together. Shoto smiled at the thought.

When everyone was done eating they left.

" How come you don't really stay at the dorms Todoroki?" Midoriya asked when Shoto said he would have to take a different route from theirs to get home. Shoto shrugged, "My Dad is always calling me back home to train."

"It must be nice to get to train with the number one hero." Kaminari said, sighing sadly.

I wonder what he'd think if he knew what it's really like Shoto though suddenly wishing he could tell them. But he knew he couldn't, who would believe him anyway. They may be his friends but that doesn't mean they'll believe everything he says. Especially if he told them he got beat by Endeavor, the number one hero. " Well, we'll see you later Roki!" Sero called as Shoto began to cross the street. He waved goodbye to his friends and made his way to his house. If you could call it that. It didn't feel like a home to him, it felt more like a prison. Whenever he went home he was always beat, and his father always made it his mission to make his son feel worthless. In his fathers mind, he was helping Shoto. He was helping mold him into an amazing pro hero. In his mind he was doing nothing wrong, and Shoto hated him so much because of teen rebellion.

Shoto stood outside the traditional Japanese house knowing when he went in, his day wouldn't be perfect anymore. Shoto took a deep breath and stepped inside. It was ghost quiet, which was a stark contrast to when his father was home. Oh, I forgot Father would be home late.

Shoto walked into the kitchen and plopped the bag he'd been carrying to the ground and took out his homework. Shoto decided he would start on math first since it was the hardest and his least favorite subject. He got to work. After Shoto was done with math he moved on to English, and so on and so forth until he was done. Shoto sighed with relief when he was done. He put away his school books in his bag, along with his homework and took the bag upstairs to his room.

As Shoto plopped his bag on the ground in his room, he heard the front door slam open followed by loud stomps.

Shoot

" SHOTO!" Endeavor yelled, " Come down here it's time to train!"

Shoto sighed and made his way down stairs before his father got pissed.

" Yes sir, I'm here." Shoto said, not at all excited to train. " Good, be faster next time, villains aren't going to wait around for you." With that, Endeavor grabbed Shoto wrist and began to drag him to the training room.

Shoto was tossed inside carelessly. Shoto whimpered quietly when his back collided painfully into a piece of training equipment. " Stand up quickly Shoto, if I were a villain you'd already be dead by now."

Shoto stood up shakily, his legs felt like noodles and he felt lightheaded. Before Shoto could recover from being thrown, his father punched him hard in the stomach. Shoto flew back, hitting his head on the wall. Shoto tried to stand up as quickly as he could but fell down, his legs too weak to hold him up. " What is wrong with you shoto?!" Endeavor roared, anger bubbling in his chest making his face turn a light red. " You fought better than this when you were eight!" Shoto was on his knees begging for his legs to lift him off the ground. Shoto tried again to get up, and with the help of the wall he was able to. But as soon as he did, his body seized up, he suddenly had a headache and then...

He fell to the ground.
