Chapter 15

                          Naruto's Pov

Author's note: Last chapter I completely forgot to underline the part where boruto explained to sarada about his Otsutsufication and how he was scared how people would react. The underlined sentences or words means a voice in the person's head, or for some instances it's someone explaining a memory they had to another, if you didn't know already. Sorry if it was confusing. I fixed it now though.

"Shikadai!" I yelled.

I saw the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, all looking down at the man who was lying down on the floor.... Lifeless...

"No way...."

I slid next to the trio, looking at my lifelong best friend.

"Shikamaru!" I yelled, my eyes started to tear up. "Damn it."

"Lord Seventh...."

Code killed Shikamaru the same way he did to Boruto... The gaping hole in his stomach, and I wasn't there to save him.

"Naruto, come over here." Sasuke said.

"What happened?" I asked walking towards Sasuke.

"Seems like Amado didn't make it out either."

I clenched my fists in anger, my nails dug deep into my palm making them bleed a bit. This is all happening too fast, I can't keep up mentally. I don't want to do this anymore, I want to give up.

I can't take it anymore....

"What do we do now, Lord Hokage?" Sasuke asked.

That's right, I am the Hokage... This is war. This is reality, I can't let my emotions get the best of me.

I have to stay strong and win this war.

"Team 10, go report to Ino that it's over, let's start rebuilding quickly."

"Lord Seventh, I-" Shikadai broke down.

"Sorry Shikadai, Inojin, Chouchou, but we are in a war now."

Borutos Pov (Hours later)

Shut up huh... All I did was ask a question, I don't know why but, it kind of hurt a bit.... I walked around the Village I was ordered to protect with my power. The townspeople were rebuilding and repairing the buildings that were damaged.

"I thought he died!?"

"What is the Hokage's son doing here?"

"What is that on Boruto's chest!?"

"What's with his left eye?"

What are they talking about? Why are they talking like they know me?

I saw a man charge at me with a knife on his left hand with intent to kill,

I swiftly backhanded his left hand, successfully knocking the knife out of his hand. I got a hold of his left hand and forcibly put his hand behind his back and kicked him to the ground. I kneed on his back and sharpened my hand holding the man hostage.

"I thought you died, why are you back!?" The man yelled.

"I never died, the real question is why did you attack me?" I asked as a crowd of people formed around us . "Are you affiliated with Code that's going against Konoha?"

"No." The man spat. "I'm doing this for Konoha!"

"What are you talking about?" I asked as I put more pressure on his back.
