Who is the real monster

"Currently what we know about the monsters is that they are prepared for an invasion at any point in time. So we have to be prepared for the worst possible outcomes and prepare all cadets for a dangerous war" Nate said as he sat down at the table. "When I was commander I made all captains and cadets train to become members of squad Ranger. We need all the fire power we can get'' I said as I looked Nate in the eyes. "Captain Zane, haven't you faced more powerful monsters than the number?" Mia asked in confusion. "I have actually, which is why I'm reassembling squad Divine as the squad to handle them" I said in a stern tone. "That's a good place to start if there are more powerful monsters than numbered then we need to be prepared for anything they throw at us. Zane how long until you get squad Divine all back and ready in the field'' Nate asked as he looked at me. "Currently as we speak only two of my cadets are ready, those being Rylie and Dylan. The other two Alex and Alyssa need more time to train to become full fledged members of Divine'' I said as I looked at Nate. "How much more time do you think they need?" Nate asked. "I believe a couple more weeks will do since how well they did on their last mission by themselves" I replied. "Alright then a couple more weeks is all you get then. Captain Mia of squad Heart how much longer will captain Austin and his squad be in recovery for '' Nate asked as he looked at Mia. "Currently they're all up and moving and all of them show signs of full recovery. I can allow them back into the field as soon as tomorrow and as late as next week" Mia replied. "Perfect. Now what about a captain for Squad Ranger since we now have a vacant space to fill'' Nate asked. "I believe that position can be filled by the second in command Cartar '' Jacob replied with a grin. "Does anyone else agree with Jacob that Cartar should take control of squad Ranger? '' Nate said as he looked at all of us. "I don't believe he should because of what happened when he was the captain of squad Raven" Aleah said in anger. "Agreed Cartar shouldn't become a captain of a squad again not after he nearly let his team be killed in battle" I replied. "The one who should become the Captain of squad Ranger should be Captain Zander of squad Raven and his second in command become the captain of squad Raven" Kara said with a smile. "Agreed, Zander is the perfect captain for squad Ranger and is more than ready to be that captain" Ella said with a smile. "Well Zander what do you say about becoming the Captain of squad Ranger" Nate asked as he looked at him. "I would love to be the captain of squad Ranger. It's a dream come true," Zander said with a smile. "Alright, are there any other current events that need to be addressed at this time" Nate asked as he looked at all of us. "Yes there is actually and it's something very important that all of us have talked about" Adam said with concern. "Currently as stated yesterday you became the commander of all monster hunters under my permission. You aren't as powerful as your brother so we have all decided that we put together a new squad called squad safe" I said as I looked at Nate. "What would this squad be for?" Nate asked with a confused look on his face. "It would be for your protection since these monsters know that only one human leads all of us. Which is why we need that member to be protected at all times when out of the building" I replied. "If that is what all of you want then I have no choice but to agree with you on this" Nate said with a smile. "One member from each squad except for Divine has been chosen to become a member of this squad. The only reason why squad Divine isn't a part of this one is because we already have few members. But once I find someone else strong enough to join squad Divine I will decide who will join squad Safe" I replied in a stern tone. "Alright then as of today squad safe is a part of the monster core" Nate said with a smile. "Is there anything else we need to talk about?" I asked as I looked around the table. Everyone looked at me with an upset knowing that I didn't want to tell Nate the truth about squad Safe. The real reason it was created wasn't only for his protection but ours as well it was to protect us if he ever went rogue. With him being the commander of every single monster hunter it was only one of the possibilities that could happen. Though I trusted him it still made me feel uneasy that one day he could turn on us in the blink of an eye and all of us would be whipped out by the monsters. "Alright now is that everything that we need to talk about for this meeting" Nate asked. "No, we still have more to talk about," Mia said with a smile. "Agreed there's still the strategy we need to use against these monsters" Adam replied. "Squad Divine will be the one to lead the charge into battle with squad Delta flanking them from the left. Squad Ranger will flank from the right and Raven from behind. The remaining squads, those being: Silver, Angels, Heart, Damascus, Moon, Sun, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, will follow behind Squad Divine. The recon team will remain at base until further notice" Nate said with a grin. I looked him in the eyes shocked by what he had said. Nate had never really been a fighter nor that good of a strategist but today he shocked me by what he had said. "I'm sorry Nate but I don't agree with that strategy. We need Squad Delta to lead the charge into battle" Kara said with a smile. "Agreed squad Divine will need to be the one to flank from the back so squad Raven will have to take the left" Tia replied. "Zane, what do you agree with this decision or do you want squad Divine to lead the charge into battle" Nate asked as he looked me in the eyes. "I'm sorry but I have to decline both because squad Divine will be leading an assault attack in a different location at that time" I replied. "What do you mean, Zane? All of this planning is for us to finally win the war and you want to leave it" Adam said in anger. "Agreed you always have a fighting spirit but today you have lost that spirit to fight '' Jacob said as he stood up. "This assault is the most brutal of them all and it will prevent more reinforcements from showing up to help the monsters fight. Also it's to gather all of the ones with words in one area preventing them from attacking the main forces. All we are is a distraction" I replied in anger. "Zane we need the strength from squad Divine to help us fight off these monsters without squad Divine then we have no choice but to call off this attack" Mia said in an annoyed tone. "Agreed Zane we need squad Divine in the front lines of this war fighting off the main forces of the monsters' ' Nate replied with a smile. "I'm sorry but I can't be the one to lead them into battle" I said as I stood up and started leaving the room. "Zane, wait" Tia said as she grabbed my arm. "What is it that you hope to achieve by leading your squad into a suicde run that would get them all killed?'' Tia asked as she looked me in the eyes. "Because there's a monster that none of the lower squads can handle even in greater numbers. Which is why squad Divine is going to be the squad to prevent that monster from making it to the battlefield. And that monster and I have a score to finally settle" I said as I forced my arm out of her grip. "Zane, please sit down," Nate asked in a calm voice. A tear fell down my cheek as I left the room and all of them attempted to stop me from leaving. But none of them could stop me and I left the building and went to a place where I knew they wouldn't find me. Throughout the years after my parents were killed I found a special place that nobody other than me knew about.
