Brother's Boss {Casualty}

Thirteen

Madison and Iain were adjusting to Esmè and having her home. It had been a few weeks. But now Iain was returning to work.

Madison knew how worried that she was about looking after Esmè without him.

Madison walked down into the kitchen and saw Iain as he was feeding Esmè. She looked to them and smiled. "Is she okay?" She asked.

Iain looked to her. He smiled. "She's golden. Like her mum," Iain said as he walked over to her and kissed her.

She kissed him back. She smiled as she looked to him. She sighed. "I'm going to miss you."

Iain looked to her and smiled. "And I'm going to miss you. Both of you. But it's twelve hours. I'll be home in no time," he said as she looked to him and smiled.

She knew what a mess it was. But she knew that he had to go back to work. And how they had to try and make it work.

"I know," she mumbled as she took Esmè from him and held her close.

Iain placed a hand on her cheek. He smiled as he kissed the top of her head. "I love you."

Madison looked to him and nodded. "I love you too," she said as he pulled her into a hug.

Madison answered the door. She grinned as she saw Aimee. "Iain asked me to come and check on you. I think he's missing Esmè really," Aimee said as she walked inside.

Madison looked to her best friend and smiled. "I gathered by all the texts I've had. You okay?" She asked.

Aimee who was looking at her phone. "I'm fine. I'm tired it's just fletch," she told her.

Madison looked to her and raised an eyebrow at her. "Is there a reason that you are texting your brother's best friend?"

Aimee smiled and shrugged. "Nothing. We're just friends," she said as she picked up Esmè.

Madison looked to her and rolled her eyes. "Right. Naked friends? Are you sleeping with him. Come on. I have a baby for company. I need some sort of conversation," she told her.

Aimee looked to her and nodded. "We're sort of seeing each other. But we are keeping it quiet for Raf's sake. I mean I love my brother. But we have to keep it quiet for now," she said as

Madison looked to her and smiled. "As long as you are happy. I'm happy for you," she said.

Madison sat in the living room. Iain walked in. "I tried to keep her up. But she's asleep," Madison said.

Iain sat next to her. He smiled. "That's okay. I'll see her tomorrow. Did Aimee stop by? I thought that you could use the company," he told her.

Madison looked to him. She nodded and smiled. "She did. Thank you. How about I order us some food?" she said as she stood up.

Iain pulled her back down. He kissed her. "Sure," he said as Madison smiled.

She knew how hard they were trying to make it all work. But would everything go smoothly?
