Forbidden Love

Chapter 5

"I though you were gay?" Jade says.

"I am... gay as fuck. Dude, you know how people say 'I'm straight as a line'?" we all nod "Well if you looked at my line it would be like looking at you earbuds after they've been in your bag for a month," we all laugh because it is so true "but Maxie needs a  temporary boyfriend because she had this whole long thing where she didn't want Ashley to date Colin because of... the thing, you know? And so she said she liked him but Ashley's back up plan, Dillon, is totally gay, but she talked to Colin for Maxie and now he is gonna ask her out but she doesn't want that anymore so, Taylor had to step in and work some magic," he says. There is a noise at my door and we all turn to see, the one, the only. Ashely. She has the best timing.

"Did you really do all of that?" Ash says "you lied to me?"

"Oh shit," Tay says.

"Fuck," Jade mutters.

"Holy shit," Paige adds quietly. 

"How could you!?" she yells and runs down the stairs. We were all in shock and so we just sat there. After a couple of seconds I got and ran after her. She was halfway down the block. I ran after her.

"Ash!" I yell "wait!" she stops and turns to me. Her cheeks are streaked with tears.

"You fucking lied, Max... How could you lie like that?" she says shaking her head and letting the tears run down her cheeks "you knew I really liked him....." am I a terrible friend to notice that she said 'liked' instead of 'like'? "And it was because of a 'thing'," she says using air quotes on 'thing'. "What is this big 'thing' anyways? What was the 'thing' that made you betray your best friend, huh? What was it?" she says coming towards me now "huh?" she says pushing my chest making me stumble backwards "what is it? I bet it isn't even that important... that it wouldn't effect me in any way... what is it? Huh? Come on, don't be a pussy. Tell your best friend," she says through gritted teeth "What is it?" she must have pushed my chest about a hundred times, because we were in front of my house again. Jade, Paige and Tay are on the porch now, they look worried as fuck... why wouldn't they? "Tell me! What is it?" she starts yelling "what the fuck are you keeping from me?... Tell me!... Why are you so scared?... Tell me! Are you scared you are gonna lose me? 'Cause you are about to even if you don't tell me! What is it? Huh? Tell your best friend! Fucking tell me! What the fuck-"

"I like you!" I yell back "I fucking like you, ok?... a-and as much as I don't want to have feelings for my best friend.... I do, alright? And there is nothing I can do about it. Feelings are a bitch. I fucking like you. I like you," I repeat. She just stands there looking blankly at me "what?" I say harshly "Now you are gonna run away? Go ahead and run! Run away from me! Go! I don't care! I know I can't have you! So go," she just stands there "I said go! Just go! I don't even want you here anymore! Go! Just go!" I feel the first tear of many roll down my cheek. She starts to back away slowly, still looking at me with that fucking blank expression that makes her look so damn clueless and adorable. 

"I-i'm sorry. I didn't know," she says walking backwards now. Then she turns and runs. She just runs just like I told her to. But actually seeing her do it hurt so much more. I didn't think that it would when I was yelling at her but it did. As much as wanted to run after her. I didn't. My vision was blurred with tears now. 

"Oh no, baby, come here," Tay's says wrapping his arms around me.

"I'm gonna go talk to her," Paige says "I'll be back, ok?" she says wiping a tear away, kissing my cheek and hugging me before running off in the direction that Ash just ran. I don't know why but if fucking hurt so much. It hurt like a bitch. Now Jade has her arms around me too and they were both guiding me up to my room.
