All About River

"Hey, I'm calling about the ad you placed." 

River internally smiled to himself, the voice sounded warm and comforting. Contrasting greatly with a few other people whom he had spoken with already.

"Hi, this is River speaking, and you are?" River couldn't help but feel giddy. There was something about this voice that radiated warmth and comfortability.

"I'm Thea, Thea Reyes, and I was just wondering are you doing showings of the space? I'd really like to take you up on your offer."

"Thea...that's a beautiful name. And yes! You are welcome to come have a look at everything before we further make any decisions."

The short conversation echoed through River's mind as he ran errands for today. Noting again and again that the woman whom he had spoken with over the phone, would be to have a look at the apartment today. River was very excited to meet her, and hopeful that'd she be a good person or at least the shadow of one; River also didn't mind the fact that she was a woman. He was raised to be respectful and treat everyone with the same likeliness. So he'd have no problem with a roommate of the opposite sex.

River hummed soft melodies to himself bustling through the crowded walkways of New York. He had about 1o minutes before Ms. Reyes was scheduled to arrive. River wanted nothing but to be punctual. And with that he made the commute back to his home.

With a few minutes to spare before her arrival. He quickly tidied up spaces that needed to be, and after several minutes he heard heavy knocks at his front door. River quickly padded over to his entryway, and swung the door open.

"Hi!" River greeted offering his best smile. His eyes taking in every inch of the lady. He couldn't help but note that her facial features were aesthetically satisfying. She was what one might say, not hard on the eyes, just pure good lookin'.

"Hello, you must be River, it's nice to finally meet you, I'm Thea." River eagerly shook her hand that she had placed out in front of him. "Yes! I'm River, and please come in. Feel free to have a look at everything. The second door in the hallway to the left would be the room I have available for you. The other would be mine. I would also like to note it has one shared bathroom, so hopefully that wouldn't be an inconvenience to you."

Thea stepped through the threshold of this gorgeous apartment. Her eyes scanned and took note of every last detail. It was a great space, and she had already made up her mind.

"Mind showing me to that room?" Thea mumbled still marveling at the astonishing architecture of the apartment.

River simply nodded and led her through his new home. Making sure to voice a couple perks as he went. He was eager to find his match in roommate terms, and completely settle. "Alrighty this is it, there's a walk in closet, and that second door would be the shared bathroom. To ensure that whomever decides to live here, I've left half of the storage space open so that all bathroom necessities can be placed in there."

"This is nice, and the base rent would be...?"

"Oh! That'll be $417, excluding other extremities such as lights and other bills. All in all everything will be split evenly. My lease is not up till the end of the year, I don't know how long I plan to stay in this specific space. But I'd enjoy a roommate with a compatible personality to mine."

"Well if you aren't looking at any other candidates, then i'll take it." River beamed, and all but internally squealed. A hot roommate would always be a plus one in his book.

"Well this is great. You can move in whenever you're ready. I'll forward you the small contract I wrote up, stating boundaries etc."

"Well...if you don't mind how about today? I was in between housing anyways. All my things have already been prepped for a move."

River couldn't deny he was slightly taken aback. He had never really went through this process before. So it was unbeknownst to him that this would move so quickly. Maybe he should have been cautious but he was raised to give people the benefit of the doubt. So all he saw was good before he could see the bad....
