"Stop lookin' at me like that" Thea grumbled, taking another bite of her food. River squinted his eyes, "...like what?"

"Mane you know what, stop lookin' at me like you scared for me. Its done and ova' with."

River sputtered with a roll of his eyes, but left the conversation where it was at. He'd hate to upset her before she actually started opening up. Which he so desperately yearned for her to do. Now so more than ever. There were so many things left unsaid, but he guessed time would tell.

..."Well are you enjoying the food? I used some of my mamma's recipes."

"River...I won't lie to you. This might be the best damn shit I ever ate my life. Baby boy, throwing down in the kitchen is your absolute forte."

River grinned widely feeling his heart flutter. He knew she halfheartedly called him that, but it didn't make it any less sexier coming from her lips. Those luscious two tone lips of hers...that just looked oh so soft and inviting. River had to shake himself out of his thoughts, things were taking a drastic turn and he did not need to go there. Not right now at least. He just wanted to bask in her presence and hopefully get to know her more. After all she had been his roommate for a little while now, and you're at least supposed to know something about the person you're sharing a home with.

"So...Thea tell me some more about you. I feel like I only know so little." River started trying to engage her in the convo some more, so she'd let her walls come down some.

"Well, shit. Let me see, ian got much family. Well I got a baby brother, and thats about it. He's eight. My mama and pops well...I won't even get into them, but may my mothers soul rest in peace. Man--" she paused, "Ian seen baby bro since he was...three. I already told you what whereabouts I'm from. You can hear it all in my accent. Shit it ain none much else to me. I do freelance entrepreneur work. Hence why i'm never here, usually. I'm working on a few projects right now. That's all foreal."

River listened intently almost getting lost in her eyes. He wanted to know more about her work but he gathered he probably shouldn't press it. As she always mentioned it was just freelance work. And well as long as it isn't illegal and she's stays on top of her rent it matters not--and she is always on time with her money.

"Can I ask more about your brother? If its a touchy subject just ignore me and we can talk about something else, okay?"

Thea gave River a small smile, she silently appreciated that he wasn't going to press too far into her personal life. But at the same time she still understood she had to tell him something. "My baby, he's got the biggest brightest smile around. And he's just so goofy and loving. His eyes used to light up when he saw me. He'd give me a million hugs if his ass could. His name is The'O, that boy just the most beautiful soul walkin'."

"Aww sounds like you love him very much. I wish I had siblings, my mama always said I was 9 pounds 2 ounces and that she'd never do it again. I guess my chunky butt steered her away from having more kids." River giggled thinking about how his Mom would never live her birth story down. Considering all the hard work she put into it, rightfully so.
