Stiles stirred slightly when Derek leaned down and planted a kiss on his forehead. "Morning, Little Fox," he cooed.

Stiles gave the alpha a smile as his eyes slowly fluttered open. He then grinned and made grabby hands at Derek who chuckled and laid down so Stiles could cuddle against him. "Just for a little while. I have some things I have to attend to," he said as he carded his fingers through Stiles's hair.

"Are you leaving?" Stiles whispered, his fear at the prospect of being left alone, bleeding into his voice.

Derek shook his head and tilted Stiles's chin to look up at him. "No. I'm not leaving. Do you remember how we talked about what was happening at work with Ryan and Maddie?" Stiles nodded slowly and moved closer to Derek. "Well, the flash drive with all that important information arrived today and after reviewing it, I have scheduled a skype call with some other people, including Erica, who are going to help me see that they don't get away with what they've done."

"So, you have a meeting then?" When Derek nodded, Stiles sighed quietly. "Alright. Then I want to help," he stated firmly as he sat up. "You said it yourself. I'm smart and brave. Also, I know I brought this trouble to you. So, I'm going to help. You can't talk me out of it either." He crossed his arms to prove his point.

Derek's heart swelled and fluttered at the determination of his omega. Not to mention how much preening he and his wolf were doing at the evidence of just how strong their mate was. "Alright. I wouldn't dream of not including you, Little Fox. This is your life too."

Derek pulled a chair up next to his own at the desk and got situated so they could start the call. Stiles was in the kitchen getting snacks and Derek didn't see the harm in connecting the call.

"Nephew! How lovely to see your face," Peter drawled out.

Derek snorted and shook his head fondly.

"Ignore his tone, Derek," Chris's voice chimed in. "He's in a bit of a mood."

Peter sent a glare Chris's way but huffed, sniffing haughtily.

"Now now you two, behave. I know that's not your default setting, but one can hope. It's good to see this goof's face," Erica crooned. "I've missed you, Der."

"Oh, I see how it is. You can't flirt with me, but you flirt with him just fine," Danny teased.

"Well, he plays on both teams, Danny boy," she teased back.

Derek rolled his eyes fondly, his ears attuned to Stiles's movements on his way to the study from the kitchen. "Actually—" He stopped as Stiles peeked stilled in the doorway with a tray, seeking Derek's assurance. With a reassuring smile, Derek gestured for him to come over. Derek gave his mate a big smile causing Erica to giggle. "I'm strictly on Stiles's team."

Stiles blushed deep red and glanced at Derek shyly. He set the snacks on the desk, wiping his hands nervously on his jeans and leaned into Derek, feeling nervous. Derek gently squeezed the back of his neck and Stiles went pliant baring his throat. Derek rumbled pleased at the display of submission.

"So, this is the elusive Stiles?" Peter asked.

Stiles tensed slightly, his eyes widening.

"Peter!" Chris warned.

"What? He's gorgeous. It's really no wonder Derek's interested in him."

Stiles looked at Derek and inhaled sharply before shifting and dropping onto the floor. Derek's eyes widened and he slowly knelt down on the floor, the computer forgotten for the moment. "What's wrong, Little Fox?" he cooed, coaxing Stiles closer and started to gently pet his head.
