Chapter 2

.....A Few Hours Later.....

Our dinner plans were cancelled, and we thought it best to reschedule. I just finished having dinner in our room when Alex arrives with Adelaide.

"Mommy!" She shouts as she runs over to me with a smile, as she gets up on the bed.

"Are you sick?" She asks "You did not wake up, when me and Daddy were trying to wake you up"

"I'm sorry I worried you and Daddy, but I am fine. I just need a little rest. How about we go somewhere tomorrow?" I say as she nods excitedly and cuddles close to me.

I stoke her hair and soon she falls asleep beside me. Not long after, sleep overtook me as well.

-----Alex' POV-----

I walk out of the bathroom to see both Amelia and Adelaide peacefully sleeping. I smile as I pick up Addie and carry her to her room down the hall.

I place her down on her bed and gently close the door as I walk back to our room. I lay down on our bed as Amelia unconsiously wraps her arm around me as she lays her head on my chest.

I place a kiss on her head as I think about all that happened today. All the sacrifices we had to do all those years ago was totally worth it. To have an amazing wife, a wonderful daughter, and another child on the way. It's more than I could ever imagine.

-----Amelia's POV-----

.....A Few Weeks Later.....

Currently I am in the ballroom with Laura and a few others as we plan for the upcoming ball.

Every year, the heirs to the throne - and the consorts - of the different monarchies attend a meeting hosted by a different country each year, to speak about matters concerning the crowns.

It also gives an opportunity to strengthen ties with the other countries. The night before the meeting, a ball is hosted to welcome each one.

This event really boosts tourism for the hosting country, seeing as the royals often stay a week in the hosting country, attending different engagements with a member of the hosting country.

This year, Othillia is hosting. It will also be the last time Alex and I are attending this event. Adelaide is supposed to represent Othillia for next year as she is next in line. However, since she is still too young, George and Mary will be representing Othillia until she is old enough to attend.

While Alex is in a meeting, I begin planning for the look of the ballroom and the other things we need to prepare.

"I was thinking we cou-" I was cut off as Addie comes running inside.

"Mommy, Daddy is going to teach me how to ride a horse!" She says excitedly.

"That's nice. When will he teach you?"

"Now" she says and right on cue Alex enters with a smile as he approaches us.

"Would you like to join us?" Alex asks

"I would love to but I have to finish a few things here. I'll try and catch up with you both later" I say as they nod before walking out of the ballroom.

"Let's continue, as I..." We continued once more with the planning.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

I walk out of the palace and I see Addie seated on a pony while Alex held onto its reigns as they walked around.

"Mommy, look I'm riding a pony!" she says with a huge smile as Alex turns and notices me as I walk over to them.

"You're doing great, dear. Soon you will be riding on your own" I say as I suddenly felt a little dizzy.

I watched them both for a few minutes while standing at the side as Alex continued to lead the horse around.

"I'll head back inside. I'm feeling a little dizzy at the moment" I say as I apporach them once more and Addie nods.

"Do you need help?" Alex asks as I shook my head.

"I'll be fine. You both just continue with your lessons" I say as he nods and places a kiss on my head before I walk back inside.

.....A Few Hours Later.....

I was reading a book in our room when I suddenly felt the urge to throw up.

I quickly disregarded the book and ran to the bathroom as I knelt on the floor by the toilet.

-----Alex' POV-----

We just finished lessons today. I am carrying Addie as we walk towards her room.

"You stay here first while I look for Mommy so we can have dinner in a while, alright?" I say as she nods before walking over to her toys.

I walk out of her room and head to Amelia and I's room to check if she's there.

"Love?" I call out as I enter our room. Before I get to call again I hear her throwing up in the bathroom.

I noticed the door was wide open as I entered. Amelia was kneeling on the floor as I rushed over and knelt down beside her. I held her as I moved her hair to the side while she continued to throw up.

After a few seconds she leaned against me as she took a few deep breaths before she started to move to get up.

-----Amelia's POV-----

Alex helped me up as he handed me some tissue to wipe my mouth as I flushed the toilet.

I thanked him as I went over to the sink to brush my teeth and fix myself. A knock on the door sounded as Alex went to check who it was.

After I fixed myself, I walked out and saw Alex seated on the bed.

"Who was it?" I asked as I sat down beside him on the bed.

"Liam. Mother and Father are already waiting for us" he replies as I nod

"Should I send for your dinner here?" He asks as I shook my head.

"No need" I say as he nods and we get Addie before heading towards the dining room.

.....The Next Day.....

Today is Addie's first day of school. We just finished breakfast and it was time for us to get ready.

Alex and I will be bringing her to school then we have an engagement to attend to.

Alex has a few things he has to do while I prepare Adelaide for school.

Much as we wanted this day as normal as possible. We were informed before breakfast, that there are press people waiting across the school for us.

Adelaide and I continue to walk towards her room when I hear Laura call after me.

"Amelia, may I speak with you for a minute" she says as I turn towards her.

"Addie, could you go ahead to your room? while I speak to Ms. Laura for a while" I say as she nods before skipping off to her room and I turn once more to Laura.

"We just have to do a quick run through of today's schedule" Laura says as I nod and she begins.

When she finished. I headed towards Adelaide's room. I opened the door and entered, yet I couldn't find her anywhere inside the room, including her bathroom.

I walk outand check multiple rooms, including Alex and I's room, yet she reallly is nowhere to be found.

I start to panic as I ran towards Alex' office. I barge inside as Alex looks up from the document he was reading. He looks at me and immediately gets up and approaches.

"What's wrong?" He asks as he places his hands on my arms.

"I can't find Addie"
