Remus had grown increasingly worried and he started waking up earlier than the other three boys and no matter how hard Remus tried to get back to sleep he couldn't.
So he took this time to study harder and longer in the common room or the boys would wake up and catch him practicing his keyboard with his headphones in, he'd flash them a big good morning smile then go back to what he was doing. On the rare occasion that he woke up really early he had a shower then went and played his keyboard or do homework or sometimes even a mix of both.
Remus was fine with the moon being three days away until he had nothing to do, so that was mainly at night when he finished his homework or more so he finished copying off of sirius's and james's and when he was too tired to play his keyboard but not tired enough to sleep. That was the worst for Remus because that was when he was left completely and utterly alone with only his thoughts.
And where ever remus went all he evever heard was about this bloody fucking hybrid moon shit that only ever happened once a decadeso much so that sometimes he wished he could just scream from the astronomy tower.
"I'm a werewolf! I've never seen a full moon for as long as I can remember! Ever since I was six I've turned into a vicious beast and the most ironic thing about it all!? I was born at 10 o'clock at night right when the lunar moon was in full shine! And that's not all i was bitten under a fucking hybrid moon! So can you all please stop going on about how it's so rare and how it's so pretty, please?"
But Remus knew that if he did do that he might as well pitch himself off of the astronomy tower at the same time because it wouldn't be that long till they came at him with pitchforks, silver and whatever else kills werewolves in the slowest, most painful ways possible.
Remus also reminded himself several times a day that he was needed, he was needed to clean up after everyone else and he was also needed to do everyone's else's dirty work for them, that was why he was needed and nothing else. His inner thoughts told him this constantly and Remus no longer broke down about it because he knew it was true and he knew it was time to stop ignoring the facts, though not everyone thought this about him.
The boys picked up on Remus's behavior extremely quickly and using their knowledge from last time they decided not to question him about it. Peter and James did this very well for 11 year olds. They acted as if they would any other day knowing that Remus was going to get better, but Sirius on the other hand refused to let it slide. Especially after seeing Remus covered in scars, Sirius was completely and utterly terrified that Remus was going to hurt himself again and Sirius was not going to let that happen on his watch. Not having a reply yet from Andromeda, Sirius had no idea what to do.
That morning however Sirius easily spied the large snowy owl in the herd of the all the little black and brown owls of the early morning mail hour, he got very relieved as he thought that he might have had to act on the spot and he most certainly didn't want to stuff this up. The snowy owl came gliding over, it was truly a beautiful owl. The letter was very short but it was exactly what sirius needed to hear;
Dearest cousin sirius,
Tell someone McGonagall or the nurse,
But tell someone and fast.
Sincerely,
Your dearest cousin Andrea.
sirius was going to do exactly what andrea had told him to do, for a change. But first He was going to ask Remus about it, alone, tonight, once James and Peter were fast asleep and not any earlier or later.
