the Marauders story- year one

After the incident that happened in the hall the other day Remus felt more guilty than ever. Though he and Sirius made up the following day, on september 3rd, he still felt like a terrible friend, Sirius tried desperately thinking up anything that might just try and cheer up his friend, but no matter what Sirius did it just wasn't working for him.

Two weeks had passed since Sirius desperately tried to cheer up Remus and seeing as nothing was working he came to the last solution he knew and to be honest the decision he hated the most. Sirius was going to seek help from his cousin, Sirius hated seeking help it wasn't because of the fact that it was his cousin who he was seeking help from. He much preferred to be the one giving it or being seeked, but he absolutely hated seeking it.

Sirius sucked it up and decided to write the letter;

Dearest cousin Andromeda,

I'm writing this letter to you in urgent need of help, my dear friend Remus Lupin and I got into a big fight a few weeks ago. We made up the following day, but you're probably familiar with how I can read people with 90% accuracy, most of the time. I can tell that Remus isn't happy and that he feels like a guilty friend for the argument we had, it wasn't all his fault it was also practically my own fault. I've tried everything I know to cheer him up and to convince him that he is indeed a good friend but nothing seems to be working, I even tried talking to him! If there is any advice you could possibly give to me I'd be greatly appreciated.

On a completely different note school is great! I was sorted into Gryffindor which I thought might've been a bad choice with mum and dad and everything, but it's actually really good! I've made three really good mates and we've already pranked the slytherins and Remus also found a secret tunnel. I wonder how many others there are!? If you know of any please do tell me!

Also thank you so much for the records they are really good to study to and are a perfect method on drowning out James's obnoxious singing in the shower! If you have any more of the Beatles or Queen that'd you'd care to send that'd be amazing, thank you again for sending the ones you already have!

P.S, I'm not allowed to use the family bird without Cissy or Trixie proofreading and changing any 'unvalid' things. I'd rather have my letters remain a private affair if you understand what I mean?

Sirius carefully rolled up the letter then went off to the owlery to find an owl to deliver his message. He chose a big proud snowy owl, it must've been only a few years old as it wasn't quite used to the owlery with all the other owls, she also distanced herself from the other owls. Sirius called her over and she flew over in two or so seconds, her big strong wings carrying her across the room. Sirius gently tied the letter to the owl and she flew off, Sirius watched her fly off into the dissantanc until he couldn't see her anymore.

Meanwhile Remus was doing his detention with McGonagall as he we're supposed to, one night though McGonagall stopped him.

"Mr. Lupin, you no longer have to do detention"

"But, professor. McGonagall, i've only done a week, you said three months"

"Indeed I did, say that. Mr. Lupin, I said that for two reasons, one so that other kids don't think they can run away and get free food and drink from Veronica and only a week's detention. The second reason is I believe that you have learnt your lesson and will not run away again, so there is no reason to punish you any further. Also, please just make a believable excuse to tell you're friends why you aren't doing any more dentiont"
