Remus had been spending an awful lot of time on his map recently and the other three guys quickly figured that something was strange so they approached Remus. James was whistling his 'medicine whistle' as Remus had started to call it.
"What is it mum my half hour? My hour or what?" Remus snapped, though he didn't mean to, he simply didn't like or appreciate getting interrupted while reading or writing. It was really difficult especially with everyone talking over him or in this case, too him.
"Nothing, my dear boy. But we have come to ask you, what on earth are you scribbling on the whole time it's gotten us quite puzzled, son?" James said playing along to the mother son relationship.
Remus blushed slightly and stopped, he was embarrassed and didn't want to tell anyone because it's such a stupid idea and thing to do.
He just started to do it in his spare time, which he has a lot of and then it formed into a hobby that he enjoyed but he also wanted to do it all by himself he didn't want any help from anyone not even his best and only mates.
"Nothing of relevance or anything to bother you, just a hobby you know? something that I actually like doing in my spare time." Remus said in a cool voice.
James was more than happy to leave it their, but Sirius on the other hand wasn't he wanted to know more about this 'hobby'
"Is that so? Why don't you share this hobby with us? Does it involve secret tunnels?" Sirius whispered in his ear in a very husky voice.
"Maybe it does involve secret tunnels, wouldn't you like to know, black, and no i don't have any intentions of sharing it with any of you as a matter of fact and nor do i have to.'' Remus admitted getting slightly annoyed at Sirius "So if you could just leave me alone to do my personal and private hobby in peace and quiet, I'd be very much appreciated."
"Sirius, mate lets-'' James was rudely cut off by Peter who had snuck behind Remus while the other three were too busy worrying about the potential argument.
"Lupin! You're a bloody genius, it's a map" Peter exclaimed while picking it up and getting away from Remus' reach.
"Peter, give it back, now. And what the rudy hell happened to the words. Personal. And. Private." Remus exclaimed.
"A map you say?" Sirius was intrigued by this, who on earth would make map making a hobby it sounded more like a job or a punishment. "A map of what, exactly"
"A map of none of your blimmin business, that's what it is" Remus says while taking it back from Peter "And anyway i'm not even a sixtieth done"
"C'mon pet-"
"Sirius, that's enough leave Remus alone" James tells him sternly, but still he persits.
"It's a map of-"
"Remus, let's leave these idiots" James suggests, cutting Peter off.
"Nah, james it's fine-"
"It's a map of Hogwarts," Peter spills quickly, cutting Remus off.
"Well there you have it, Sirius, are you happy now? I was going to tell you but Peter just so happened to beat me to it! Good job mate let's go James" Remus says with sarcasm laced most of the way through it as he gets up from the table and walks out.
"Remus, wai-"
"No black, I am not waiting and don't say you are sorry 'cause you are not and if you actually are you wouldn't have done it, you too Pettigrew." Remus says, making sure each word is sturdy, audible and clear. James gave both Sirius and Peter disappointed looks but he didn't say anything.
