Y/n's POV
School has been called off for the week because all the town's males are helping rebuild Ruby's home.
After the fire my parents have barely let me out of there sight. They haven't told me who got me out of the house but if it was Adam or Billy they wouldn't shut up about it so I think it was Gilbert. That is the most logical answer. He was covered in soot and they let him talk to me when I woke up, so it must have been him.
I am feeling a lot better today so I have decided to go visit the boys with Elizabeth and Lilly. Lilly is still a bit shaken up from the fire, but shes ok knowing no one got hurt.
When we get to the worksite I see Gilbert waving to me and starting down the ladder and then see Anne and Ruby next to me, Ruby trips, obviously on purpose, because she thought Gilbert was looking at her. He comes down from the ladder and gives me a side hug before going to check if Ruby's ok and say hello to Anne. I giggle as Elizabeth nudges me after Gilbert's hug and gives me a knowing look. Just then Lilly lets go of our hands and run over to Gilbert, this will be fun.
"Excuse me mr, I am Lilly, I am five and Elizabeth is my sister." She points to Elizabeth, "I want to say thank you for saving Princess y/n the other night. And tell you," she gets him to lean down so she can whisper something to him. He laughs a little and says,
"Thank you for that, and you're welcome for saving your princess." He stands back up and smiles at me, I just shake my head laughing. Lilly then hugs him and goes to Anne.
"Hello, I am Lilly, I'm five and I'm Elizabeth's sister, and you have very pretty hair." She then gives Anne a big hug and goes to Ruby. "Hello, I am Lilly, I am five and I'm Elizabeth's sister, you fell before, are you ok?" She asks genuinely concerned.
"Yes I am ok, thank you Lilly." Ruby says and Lilly gives har a hug too.
Lilly then runs back over to us and asks Elizabeth to lift her up. "Where's Adam?" She asks us and I point him out in the crowd. She then runs over to him and grabs his hand to walk him over to us. "Adam, why haven't you said hello to Lizzy yet?"
"Well, Lilly. I didn't know you were here, but now that I do..." he kisses Elizabeth's lips in front of everyone.
"Eww! I don't want to see that!" I yell covering my eyes, and everyone laughs.
"Y/n, come with me for a second please?" Gilbert asks when Anne and Ruby have left.
"Yes?" I say when we get to somewhere no one can see or hear us.
"Do you want to know what Lilly said to me?" He asks, holding both my hands.
"Yes, yes please!"
"She said that you really really like me." He laughs a little, stepping closer.
"Did she now? Well she is 5, maybe she's wrong," he looks taken aback, "or maybe she isn't." I step forward and place a kiss on his cheek. He starts blushing and so I just walk away.
"What was that about?" Adam asks, quite confused because he thought I would be with Billy by now.
"He just wanted to know if I was ok." I tell Adam but when he walks away Elizabeth whisper yells at me,
"I don't think that's what that was!" She says looking over at Gilbert who seems very uninterested in rebuilding now.
"I. Will. Tell. You. Later. God, your so needy." I start laughing and she joins in.
"Ok! We go home now!" Lilly says with two cookies in her hands. She thinks of my house as home?
