Gilbert's POV

Today was, interesting, you could say. I didn't really know about Adam, I knew he was older and supposed to marry Prissy. I went to school with him for a few months, but when he left, nobody would ever talk about him. It was nice to hear y/n talk so openly about him.

Another weird thing today was that Anne wasn't at school. Diana didn't even know what happened. I hope it didn't have anything to do with what I did, I feel bad about it.

I want to walk home with y/n again. It was nice yesterday but as soon as class ended she ran out of the school. So I am just walking home by myself. I go through the forest again and see the fox from yesterday, I think I should come up with a name for it, but I can't think of anything, I will ask y/n to name it tomorrow.

"Gilbert! Gilbert!" Oh no. That's Ruby's voice. I turn around to face her and she just looks at me. She has a problem.

"Uh, hi."  I am very confused about why she is walking this way. Her house is in the other direction.

"Oh yes, I would love for you to walk me home, why thank you Gilbert."

What is she on about?

"I didn't offer? And I need to get back to my house soon, I need to see my dad." I don't want to sound rude, but I want to go home.

"Oh. Well then, can we walk tomorrow?" She sounds hopeful.

"We'll see." Now she's all excited. I wish I just said I didn't want to walk home with her. Now she thinks I will.

I turn back around and keep walking home. I hear her sigh, I feel bad but then again I don't.

I get home and go straight to my dads bedroom to talk with him, like y/n said to do, I am going to spend every spare minute with him.

We talk for a while and I do my homework, then we eat and I go off to bed.

In the morning I wake up and make breakfast, I then say goodbye to dad and walk to school, I am sad every time I leave him thinking it will be the last time, but when I get to school y/n will be there and she will brighten up my day. Except today she isn't here. Neither is Anne, again. I am very confused. I have never know y/n to miss a day of school, I once heard her tell Diana it was her escape. Where is she?
I just try to get through the day and not have to talk to anyone. At the end of the day, I do what y/n did yesterday and leave as fast as I can so I don't have to walk Ruby home.

I start contemplating wether I should go over to y/n's house to check on her or just go straight home. I want to make sure she is ok, but if her parents open the door, that won't be possible.
