SPECIAL CHAPTER. GF-FORHIRE

rintarō suna
seinaru's brows were stitched together as she felt her stomach lurch slightly. she felt nauseous. it was most likely brought upon by the extreme drumming she'd been doing for the past two hours.
however, there were a few more sets they had to finish until they could call it a night.
she sighed to herself, signalling to maki that she needed water. within a second, the stylist was by her side with a tall glass of water.
she gulped down the water.
"are you feeling okay?" the woman asked her. "maybe you ate something bad that got you feeling nauseous."
"nope. i feel like vomiting." she shook her head no, wiping her lips with the handkerchief that the stylist handed her just now. "but we've got a few more sets so i'll continue."
maki looked at her worriedly. "are you sure? maybe you can take five?"
"i'll still play. don't worry." the girl smiled at her.
maki sighed, making a mental note to herself to make sure that the girl was okay throughout the rest of the gig as she went down the stage and into the sidelines.
"song?" she asked utsui who was reading the setlist.
"personal." the brunette told her. "the vamps."
seinaru nodded, " 'kay."
she grabbed her sticks again and played around with it, waiting for the res of the team to give her a go-signal.
just as she was waiting, her eyes scanned the crowd. everyone was back in their seats. they all probably got tired of standing and jumping around. but the we're having fun listening while seated though. at least they no longer had to endure the ache of having to stand.
her eyes soon found mesmerizing golden brown fox ones. the slyness of his gaze caught her off guard.
he was positioned comfortably on his seat, smack dab in the center of the inarizaki team's table.
his hands were clasped together and laid over his thighs, back relaxed, and his calculated fox-eyed gaze was on her. his lips were pulled into a small, but definitely distinguishable smirk that made ymari internally swoon.
"you ready?" utsui asked, snapping her out of her reverie.
she nodded and then hit her sticks three times before starting a steady beat.
"don't take it personal. but personally, i think you'd be better with somebody like me." nozomi sang. "but worst of all, you don't even see~"
seinaru's eyes scanned the crowd again, and her eyes found the ame ones they were locked with earlier.
soon, she felt herself get immersed into the song, to the extent that she felt like she was swallowed entirely by the lyrics.
she blinked, and as soon as she opened her eyes again in a split-second, her eyes were matched with golden brown ones, now barely millimeters away from hers.
her eyes widened when she realized what was happening. his right hand was snugly wrapped around her waist, with his left clasping her right hand.
she felt his warmth radiating through their skin that were touching each other.
"i think it's time I lay my heart out on the line.." she heard nozomi sing, but she couldn't see anyone else around them. it was just an empty ballroom with dim lights.
"i think it's time to say what's playing on my mind."
she felt herself move along to the rhythm as rintarō suna continued to guide her, his eyes never leaving hers.
"i see you out with him and I say that I'm fine." nozomi sang. "happens every time, every time.."
she was spun around slowly before she was once again in suna's arms, gazing into his eyes that looked at her adoringly.
"i'm sick and tired of playing games. i'm sick and tired of being second place.."
she felt herself get entranced by his mesmerizing orbs and smooth, calculated movements. she felt herself get immersed into the melody and his arms.
"and i know if i never try, i'll be sick and tired of being sick and tired."
suna pulled her closer to his body, his breath fanning her cheeks as he began singing along right into her ear, making her heart race. his voice sounded like honey, smooth and fervorous.
"don't take it personal. but personally, i think you'd be better with somebody like me.." he hummed.
"but worst of all, you don't even see.."
she heavily banged on the drums as the beat picked up, ultimately bringing herself back into reality with flushed cheeks and a fast-beating heart.
"you know how much I love it when you call me out. you see it in my eyes, the way they follow you around." nozomi, who she could now clearly see, along with the rest of the team and everyone else at the ball, sang.
she doesn't know how she got that daydream all of a sudden— maybe maki was right, maybe she did eat something bad.
" 'cause yeah, i like the way you dance. you know i do, yeah i do. 'cause that's just you.."
she looked at the direction where the fox eyes middle blocker was at and she found him almost instantly.
"i'm sick and tired of being friends. i'm sick and tired of being there. and i know if i never try, i'll be sick and tired of being sick and tired."
her heart was rattling against her ribcage once she saw him mouth the next lyrics to the song, reminding her of her innermost fantasy that played out not even the seconds ago.
"girl, don't take it personal. but personally, i think you'd be better with somebody like me. but worst of all, you don't even see."
rintarō suna smirked as his eyes lingered on the girl who was blushing furiously under his gaze. his heart beat against his chest rapidly at the display.
so what if she's 'tsumu's girl?
he lifted the champagne glass to his lips and drank the non-alcoholic red wine.
she'd be his, one way or another.
