song: i wish by one direction

it was the second song of the first set when kageyama's eyes snapped up at the first strum of ryuguji's guitar. it was a familiar tune that he's been humming underneath his breath for the past few weeks.

"he takes your hand, i die a little.." nozomi started singing. "i watch your eyes and i'm in riddles.."

he was standing in the middle of the crowd, with korai hoshiumi and sachirō hirugami beside him. they were somehow dragged by the crowd when the band started the first song of the night.

"why can't you look at me like that?"

the lines hit so close to home— his blueberry orbs trailed over to the drummer, and instantly, sparks flew at the eye contact. ymari was already looking at him, all while keeping a steady beat on the bass drum and hi-hats.

"when you walk by, i try to say it. but then i freeze and never do it." nozomi sang. "my tongue gets tied, the words get trapped."

utsui looked up from her bass guitar and followed ymari's gaze. her eyes narrowed slightly as if she was trying to figure something out, and then she got it. with a knowing smile, she strummed her bass to the beat.

"i hear the beat of my heart getting louder whenever i'm near you.."

the intensity of their stare was starting to seep through the blueberry-eyed setter's skin— it warmed his heart so feverishly.

"but i see you with him, slow dancing. tearing me apart coz' you don't see!"

neither of them broke eye contact as ichigo and hanuka joined in as backing vocals.

"whenever you kiss him, i'm breaking.."

the melody of the song came from his spotify playlist that was generously made for him by hinata after he'd stolen the setter's phone— the orange-haired boy had said that it would apparently, "make you feel less bad about yourself". he hadn't understood what the latter meant at that moment, but as soon as he saw oikawa, iwaizumi, ushijima, and tendō enter ymari's house that evening, he was hit by the harsh truth.

he was in love with somebody who he could not have. that's what hurt the most.

he was so close, but so far away.

he mouthed the lyrics, along with nozomi and the others as his eyes didn't break contact with ymari's.

"oh how i wish that was me."

song: through the dark by one direction

kei tsukishima was leaning against the wall at the very back of the ballroom. he is so tired. he was taking requests left and right. he swears, if he hears one more, "one more glass of champagne please!" he will bend.
