Johnny rushes through the airport. It's been a little over a month, so he is ready to go home. Nothing could ever replace the feeling of him embracing Jaehyun.
As he approached the line that was already boarding, someone stopped in his way.
"You have to turn around. Boss said something is up with your work. He feels like it was rushed."
Johnny stops and looks at Stephen. "I am going home."
"Oh, sorry, it looks like you are going to be on the unemployment line instead." The man with snow white features smiles at him. "So I suggest you go back and fix what you messed up, or you will be looking for a different establishment to work at."
Johnny is tired of holding himself back, but this job is the only thing that he needs to prove that he can make it on his own. Pride struck, Johnny leaves to go back to the office.
Sitting back in his car, he pulls out his phone. He can't press the call button with Jaehyun's number. Instead, he opts out and sends a text instead.
That broke his heart to know that he couldn't even tell his husband why he was enduring all of this nonsense. All he would do is look at him crazy and claim that he is selfish.
Johnny pulls off to head back to his office. His "idgaf" attitude is running on empty. He is now a ticking time bomb with a short fuse. Somehow, his boss keeps lighting that fuse. What's next, they want him to blow up? The sad part is that he knows that's exactly what they want.
"Shi.." Johnny stopped mid cuss words as he felt his phone ringing. He picks it up. "Hello?"
"What is going on?!"
Johnny felt the sadness, and the voice crack didn't hide the younger's frustration at all. "Baby, I..."
"You're sorry? You can send me new medicine and a lousy text, but you can't facetime me at all? What is going on?"
Johnny didn't need to see Jaehyun's face to know that he was so upset right now. They know each other that well, that's what makes this situation so scary.
"Baby, please calm down." The American tries to calm Jaehyun down. Immediately, there is a tension present on the phone call.
This is what they are faced with, Johnny is overworking himself, and Jaehyun is lonely. Johnny Jaehyun has lost patience with him. That inherently isn't fair because there were many times when he should have lost patience with the younger, but he didn't.
"I just want you here. I'm not ok. I can't stand being alone anymore." Jaehyun cries out.
Hearing that made Johnny feel some type of way. He knows it's his fault. It's his fault because something inside isn't allowing him his masculinity expression if he isn't the provider in his relationship. He cursed the day he ever left working for Mark, but he hated hearing people, saying he was only able to hold his position because of Mark. He is so much more than what they made him out to be.
Johnny wanted to return home. It would be a dream come true. However, he must stay and complete what he promised himself he would. He knows that if he stays true to what he wants to do, then anything and everything is possible. Jaehyun just needs to man up and face his past.
Who was Johnny to talk to? He still had unsettled things in his past that he isn't ready to face.
"Jae, you know I miss you, but I need to do this. I need to prove to myself that I can. Even if that means putting up with my obnoxious boss, then so be it."
"Why do you need to do this to me?"
Why is this so hard? It was never Jaehyun, it's him. He is so desperate to be in control. If Jaehyun knew that, then nothing would ever be the same.
"Baby, I gotta go. You know I love you, right?" Johnny waits to hear Jaehyun's answer. If Jaehyun knows, then he won't have to worry, but if he doesn't hear anything, he will be worried.
"I know. But do you know how much I love you?"
That hit Johnny a little deeper than expected. Did he know that Jaehyun loves him? Maybe that's why he is so obsessive.
Johnny nods his head, "I know you do." Johnny half smiled while frowning. "I know you love me a lot."
After hanging up, the American brunette sits still, staring at the door, and his blood runs cold. He doesn't know how long he can hold off.
As he was stressing himself out and making a complete fool out of himself, Johnny felt something buzz on his thigh. It was his phone receiving a notification of some sort.
The notification is from a device that he connected to his phone. He opened up the message with the notification to see who it was. It was a video with the play button icon.
He pressed it skeptically. He had to press with caution because there is a high chance that it is a hacker, the last thing Johnny needed was another reason for him to not be able to go home nor did he want to be fired.
Johnny's mouth drops open when he sees Jaehyun walking through the house. It was so surprising to him because he had forgotten about the camera, well cameras.
There is one camera in each room, and the range covers his entire house. There isn't a space where Jaehyun truly has privacy from him. Somehow, these small details garnish a smile.
As he watched the video, things started to get out of place. He witnessed things moving when Jaehyun couldn't see it. In the middle of the night, he heard noises that Jaehyun couldn't hear.
The video freezes, catching Johnny off guard. He fumbles with his phone, trying to get the video to play. When he raises his gaze, he sees someone he never thought he would see in his house.
Because of this, he moves that Jaehyun would never make.
