"Good."

Kate held Ophelia's hand tightly as they walked into Eleanor's penthouse. Kate breathed heavily, leaning onto Ophelia's chest. The blue haired woman looked down at her before cupping her cheek, her thumb stroking her cheekbone softly as she saw the sadness in her brown eyes.

"Kate?" Eleanor asked and Kate stood straighter, looking to her mother, still holding Ophelia tightly. "Oh, my God. Are you okay? And why are you wearing your archery suit? Did you- Did you do this to her?"

"I'm okay." Kate answered. "And she didn't do this to me. Why would you think that?"

"Does this have anything to do with Clint Barton or Ophelia?" Eleanor questioned, cupping Kate's face as she gave Ophelia a glare, the former assassin staring back at her with a blank face.

"Mum, no. They protected me." Kate responded, teary eyed. "You'll be glad to know he then told me to come home and stay away from him."

Kate closed her eyes as Eleanor looked over her cuts, sighing shakily, "Look at me. You're the only thing that matters to me. Are you sure you're okay?" Kate just started to cry. "Oh. Come here. Come here. Oh. My baby girl. It's okay, hun."

They moved to clean Kate's injuries, Eleanor ignoring Ophelia's existence while the woman just sat on the floor by Kate, holding her hand. She was still in her suit and Kate had changed into some comfy clothes.

"Does Clint think you're a superhero?" Eleanor asked.

"No." Kate answered, swallowing thickly. Seeing her upset, Ophelia kissed her hand gently. "I don't either."

"I know it's scary now, Kate. But this doesn't have to change who you are. It just means that what you do might look a little different than you dreamed of as a child. And preferably a little less reckless." Eleanor said.

"I never wanted to be reckless. I want Red to help you." Kate stated.

"I know, hun." Eleanor agreed. "Recklessness is the unfortunate side effect."

Kate breathed deeply, "Bet you regret buying me that first bow, don't you?"

"Sometimes." Eleanor answered. "Kidding. You were so cute with that tiny bow."

"God, I thought I could do anything." Kate whispered. "I really thought I could be one of them."

"Don't beat yourself up, hun." Eleanor soothed. "Sometimes the path's we're on, they wind around in ways that we never would have expected. All you can do is keep moving forward, even on days when honestly, it all just kind of feels like shit."

"Do you ever worry about me not finding my path?" Kate asked.

"No." Eleanor responded. "I know exactly who you are. And I have a pretty good picture of who you're becoming."

"I need to tell you something." Kate said. "Clint, Phelia and I have been looking into Armand's murder. And we found a lot of incriminating stuff about Jack, Mum. Including this Shell company that he has, called Sloan Limited. Maybe there's a reason for all- I don't know. But you have to please just promise me that you'll look into it. That's all I ask."

"Okay. Okay, I will." Eleanor agreed. "You go get your things and come back home. Ophelia, I want a word."

"Yup." Ophelia sighed, standing and kissing Kate's head before leaving the room with Eleanor, walking a few meters away from the door.

"You didn't do as I wanted." Eleanor stated, glaring up at her and Ophelia stared back. "She's already in enough danger, clearly. You're just adding to tha-"

"No, I'm not. I'm keeping her safe." Ophelia cut in quickly. "I know you're not pleased about my past and guess what? Neither am I but I can't change being forced into Dreykov's web. I'm no longer a Black Widow, I'm just trying to protect someone I care about."

"She doesn't seem protected." Eleanor snapped.

"Maybe not to you but now we're not fighting and have been told to stay away? She's safe and I'll keep her safe because I care about her." Ophelia explained. "So, I'm not staying away from her because you tell me to. And I don't mind that you're going to keep judging me for my history because I just want to be happy for once which may seem selfish. And with Kate, I'm happy and she's happy with me. I hate the speech I've just given but oh well."

"I respect that." Eleanor decided after a moment.

"Good." Ophelia exhaled, walking back to Kate's door and walking in calmly.
