Chapter 10: Fights & Kisses

3 days later...

It was currently 8:15 in the morning and candace was attempting to get Amanda ready so she could drop her off at daycare but she was making it difficult for her. "Amanda please get dressed your going to make me late!" She said raising her voice. "But mom" "enough Amanda get dressed now!" She said closing her door.

Jeremy who was seating on the couch watching them sorta arguing had an idea came to his mind. "Candace Where are you dropping her off?" He asked. "I need to drop her off at day care and then head to my job." She said clearly frustrated.

"Why don't I just watch her then you don't have to go out of your way to drop her off." "Um I don't know if I'm comfortable leaving her with you just yet." "What why not we've been getting along the past few days."

"I know but I think it's just to soon." She said "come on candace please let me watch her I promise I won't let anything happen to her." He said.  Candace looked at him with her arms crossed and sighed. "Alright fine." She said as Amanda opened her door. "Okay mom I'm ready." "Amanda how do you feel about Jeremy watching you today?"

"Ooh yes Can he mommy?" Amanda said jumping up and down. "Yes Amanda but I want you on your best behavior you got that young lady?" "Yes I promise I'll be very good." Candace smiled at her and grabbed her stuff as she headed out the door.

As soon as Candace left Amanda turned to Jeremy and ran to sit next to him. "Can i have chocolate?" She asked smiling at him. "Oh no Amanda just because yours moms not here doesn't mean I'm going to let you do whatever you want." "Dang it" she said frowning.

Meanwhile candace was finishing up some last minute work before clocking out for lunch. "Hey Candace glad to see your back." Ben said entering her office. "Oh yeah unfortunately I can't stay home forever." "Yeah tell me about it, so now that your back I was wondering if you wanted to go have some lunch with me?"

"Ben I would love to join you for lunch." "Great let's go" he said grabbing her paperwork and putting it aside. "All right I'm coming" she said smirking leaving her office with him. As they arrived to a small sandwich shop across her work Ben looked over at candace and pulled out a chair for her to sit on.

"Thank you Ben that was so kind of you" "of course so what do you want to get I'll buy." "Oh you don't have to buy me anything I can get my own lunch." "None sense I invited you let me pay." "Well alright just me a grilled cheese and a water." She said smiling at him."

"Coming right up" she smiled as she saw him walking away to her order she then took out her cellphone and dialed Jeremy. "Hey what's up?" "Hey how's it going with Amanda? Is she behaving?" "Candace she's doing fine don't worry I know what I'm doing in case you forgot I used to babysit my sister all the time."

"Oh yeah that's right, we'll I'll see you guys in a little bit" she said hanging up. "Here you go." He said putting the sandwich in front of her. "Thanks" "so why did you have to take for 3 days? If you don't mind me asking." He asked.

She sighed and proceeded to explain her history with Jeremy and what happened within the last 5 years. "And that's where we're at right now." She said "wow that is a lot of information to take in.. so do you still have feelings for him?"

"Um to be honest I'm not sure what I'm feeling right now I'll have to get back to you on that." She said. "Yeah I understand... just be careful I wouldn't want you getting hurt again."
