Chapter 12: Choosing

"I choose Candace" he said as he tried to hold back his tears. "What?" What about me Jeremy? I thought you loved me?" She said as the tears began streaming down her face. "I do Chelsea i do love you." "Then choose me be with me Jeremy if you want a child I'll give you one!" She pleaded.

"It's not that simple I can't be with you I thought I could try and make it work but truth is I've always been in love with candace and I already lost her one and I don't think I can do it again and I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you I know cheating on you makes me an asshole but I'm done letting other people tell me what to do" he said.

"Fine if that's what you want.. I hate you Jeremy Johnson and don't come crawling back to me when it doesn't work out with her because I guarantee you it won't." She said throwing the engagement ring at him and storming out of the apartment.

Jeremy sighed as he himself felt sad about the breakup but he knew he wasn't going to let candace go again at least not without a fight. He grabbed his luggage and headed right back to his car and to the airport thankfully it was only 30 minutes from his house.

As he arrived to the airport he went straight to purchase a ticket for one way which of course was expensive since it was last minute and got on the plane immediately since the plane was going to take off in 40 minutes.

Meanwhile  3 hours later candace had dropped Amanda off at her grandparents house and told them she needed them to watch her for a few hours since she didn't have a babysitter and even she actually didn't need to go anywhere she just wanted to be home alone and cry from her broken heart. She felt stupid and lonely.

And a few hours later after that. As she laid in her bed crying she received a text message from Ben and she instantly smiled at the text message and replied back to him.

Ben: Hey Candace I was wondering if you were free if we could go out and have dinner?

Candace: Hey I'm actually pretty upset right now do you think you can come over and keep me company?

Ben: Oh no don't worry I'll cheer you up ;) I'll be over in like 15 minutes.

Candace got up from her bed and went to the bathroom and washed her face so she could look at least somewhat presentable. As she was tidying up the leave room and kitchen she heard someone knocking on the door and went to answer the door and saw Ben standing outside the door with a bouquet of roses and chocolate.

"Aww Ben you didn't have to bring me all this" she blushed. "Eh i know but I wanted to besides I'm happy I got you to smile and blush." He smirked as he entered her apartment. "We'll thank you you definitely cheered me up for sure." She said closing the door.

"So why are you upset today?" "She sighed as she went to go sit next to him. "Well let's just say you were right about my ex." "Ah let me guess he messed  with your head?" "Yeah I guess you could say that." "Do you want to talk about it?" "I don't know I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable." "Candace trust me you can tell me anything I'm all hears." He said as he put his hand on her thigh.

She smiled up at him and began to tell him what had happened between her and Jeremy The night before. "Wow he is such an asshole he took advantage of your vulnerability and then runs back to his girlfriend what a dick you deserve someone else who will cherish you." He said as he moved a strand of hair behind her ear.

"She blushed as she felt his hand begin to caress her face. "Um thank you that means a lot Ben." She said getting up from the couch.
"Candace I'm sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable." He said standing up as well.
