"Are you cheating on me?" She blurted out the second I closed the door behind me.
I stopped, "Excuse me?"
"Just.. tell me the truth, Niall."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"You've been gone so much lately, Niall I.."
"So that means I'm cheating on you?"
"I-I don't know," she hugged herself and looked away from me, "I just thought that.."
I sighed.
"I'm sorry," she put her palms to her eyes, "I'm stupid I.. I wasn't thinking.. I'm sorry."
I remained silent.
"I shouldn't have come at you that way, I'm sorry. It was just eating at me. And I'm so. I just couldn't stop thinking that -"
"How many times a day do I tell you I love you?"
"A lot," she whispered.
"How many times a day do I tell you how beautiful you are?"
"Several."
"How many times a week do I shower you in kisses, tell you how lucky I am, talk about marriage, talk about kids, talk about our future?"
Her mouth trembled, "I'm sorry."
"I love you. When are you going to get that through your head?"
"I don't know," she looked down, "I'm trying."
I shook my head and looked at the keys still in my hand, "That's not good enough."
She looked down to my keys and back to me, "W-What do you mean?"
"I mean.. that needs to change."
"I've been trying, Niall I swear. I've been trying to get it through my head and to accept it, but I can't," she sniffed and wiped her cheek.
"Because I'm always too afraid you'll realize that there's someone out there who's better for you, prettier, smarter, and who'd make you happier."
It hurt to even listen to this.
"I need to go do something," I pressed my lips to her cheek, "I'll be back late, if I come back tonight. Don't wait up."
"Niall, please, no I.."
"I'm not leaving you, I promise. I'll be back tomorrow, okay?"
She looked at the ground.
"I promise, alright?"
"Okay," she spoke softly.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
I kissed her again and she gave me a weak smile as I pulled the front door closed behind me.
It was time.

Next Day
"Is the blindfold really necessary?"
"Extremely."
"How much longer?"
"Almost there, babe."
"Should I be afraid?"
"Maybe," I smiled and opened my car door, hopping out.
I quickly jogged over to her side and opened the passenger side door. She unbuckled herself and I helped her onto the ground.
