Flashback

"What should I toast to? You leaving me behind?? Straying away to the big apple, leaving me in the dust!?"

Samantha shook her head disagreeing,  hating .. NO..loathing, her friend teasing her for planning to move away.

People rarely moved away from their families in their community. Their community was so close knit.  Everybody knew each other because no one really left.

"I won't be that far away Abby! I promise I'll come home and visit during the holiday's, birthdays, christening for random babies, weddings, the whole nine yards! But in the mean time, just shut up and take a shot with me. " Samantha says chipper. She reaches for her shot glass on the bar, raising it in the air.

"Cheers to myself, Samantha Banks! In hopes of becoming a more independent woman an maturing, making that paper and--"

Abby stood up an raises her shot glass in the air like the statue of liberty.

"-And in hopes of Samantha finding a guy who treats her right! Someone that's not Danny Russo! Someone who doesn't call and text at 2 am only to ask for some ass. Because my bestie, deserves the best! Deserves someone who will worship her! Soooo ..Cheers!!"
Abby says truthfully out loud. So loud, other people in the bar raise their glasses to the embrassing confession of how she's practically a booty call instead of a girlfriend.

Samantha stood up from her chair and raises her shot glasd just as high as her friend's.
"Girl! Cheers to wishful thinking." Samantha says feeling hopeful for her future.

*Ting*

End of flashback.

Atlantic City!!Atlantic City!! Atlantic City!!" Samantha chanted loudly in the rental vehicle, basically chanting into Adam's ear. He a nanosecond away from a migraine.

She hadn't been to Atlantic City since Abby had given her fairwell speech to her. Samantha hadn't kept her promise in visiting for holidays or birthdays or birth of random babies.  But after 3 years without seeing each other they were finally going to meet up today.

Adam wasn't particularly excited about visiting the Atlantic city boardwalk, a place full of bars. Probably not a good idea for either of them.

"Sam, I'm trying to pay attention. You're loud ass isn't helping." he says slamming on the breaks because everybody was zipping in from him for parking spots.

"Why is there so many fucking people here?!?" Adam grunted , getting more annoyed by the second that he had to keep driving further up in the parking garage to find a spot

"Why is there so many fucking people here?!?" Adam grunted , getting more annoyed by the second that he had to keep driving further up in the parking garage to find a spot.

"Because it's one of the most magical places in the world! There's no better boardwalk on the planet. It's better than Coney Island! You'll see." She answered, bickering at him.

*****

It was extremely crowded on the broadwalk, people rollerblading and skate boarding, kids flying kites, people fist pumping and dancing to EDM with boom boxes on their shoulders.
