"Ladies! Ladies! It has come to my attention, that our competitors have a new advantage over us." Samantha's manager says walking around the room waving her clip board around like she's a General.

"Would anyone care to guess what? HMM?"
The manager starts pointing at her staff one by one wanting a guess.

"They're give happy endings?"

"They're staying open longer?"

"They're starting a reward point system?" Samantha chirped feeling extra good about herself today.
It's was definitely the combination of sobriety and good sex.

"NO!!.No.No. the other spas are serving cocktails and champagne!! Which is driving in more clientele. Profits are up by 64%!"  The manager said.

"Ohhhh!" The group says in unison.

"So, by next week I will be hiring a new employee to the team that will already have a liquor license to handle drinks here!! " she shouts with glee.
Putting her hands in the air and waving them happily, like a inflatable tube man.

Others start applauding the "great news". Everyone's pearly whites were gleaming from smiles of joy, like a stupid salad advertisement.

Samantha stood still, processing the fact that she would be working with the access of alcohol within a week. Thinking about it made her taste buds water. She suddenly felt like she was parched and was specifically carving liquor.

A extremely overwhelming feeling of being scared came over her. A feeling so strong she didn't even realize everyone saw it on her face.

"Ms. Banks, are you okay?.. You look like you're about to cry." her manager asked, touching her shoulder. It would had been considered a nice gesture if her manager didn't ask it in such a bitchy tone.

"Huh? Do I?." Sam asked unaware of how she had started to tear up. She began wiping the tears from her water line.

"I must had thought of something sad--"

My pathetic drinking..

"-will you excuse me?" She turned her heel and made a b-line towards the bathroom.

"That girl is so dramatic." Her manager muttered to the other employees, unaware of the struggles someone actually was dealing with.

Samantha locked herself in the bathroom, turned on the faucet an proceeded to cry.
Already accepting a failure that hadn't even happened.

She immediately pulled her cell out of her pocket to make a call to Adam. But second guesses it.
Is this a reason to contact Adam?? NOTHING had happened yet. Right?

Plus he'd already got a lot going on today. Maybe I'll wait to "bother" him about it.

"No! Stop thinking you're a nuisance an an inconvenience to him!" She whispered to herself. HE'S YOUR BOYFRIEND!

She continues to make that phone call, hoping he answers.

*dial tone*.....*dial tone*

"Heeeey Samantha."
He sounds ecstatic.
So that's good.

"Hi, I was wondering were you busy?"
She asked moving her finger to her lip, slightly biting down on it nervously for a second.

"BUSY? NO! I'm not busy. I'm just at home, building a bookshelf!" He replied. She could hear him sanding down the wood as he spoke.

A actor doing carpenter work as a side hustle ..Who does he think he is Harrsion Ford??

"That's lierally ..being busy Adam." She says reluctant. She released a heavy sigh.
