I'm back!! Sorry I haven't updated. Here is a NEW chapter!
Winter's POV
I awoke to dog slobber all over my face. My collie, Pumpkin, was licking my face."Ughhhhh." I grumbled. "Get off." I pushed him off the bed, but she just hopped back up. I had no choice but to groggily sit up, so I wouldn't get anymore doggy kisses.
"WINTER!!!" My sister, Icicle, screamed at me from downstairs. "GET DOWN HERE RIGHT NOW OR ELSE!!!" "SHUT UP, ICICLE!" I yelled back. I pulled on a sweatshirt and jeans, grabbed my bag, and headed downstairs, with Pumpkin trotting at my heels.
I poured myself a glass of milk, and grabbed a pint of lime ice cream. "That is hardly a healthy breakfast." Icicle scoffed. I glanced at her syrup drenched waffles. "And yours isn't?" I replied. She rolled her eyes and turned back to her waffles.
As I started my ice cream, my phone dinged. I glanced at it. It was Qibli.
QIBLIQIBLIQIBLI: want to walk to school together???
IcePrince: Wow, even your name is annoying.
QIBLIQIBLIQIBLI: ?
IcePrince: Fine
QIBLIQIBLIQIBLI: ok, we'll see you in 10 minutes.
IcePrince: We'll?
QIBLIQIBLIQIBLI: don't forget to bring pumpkin
I turned off my phone and finished my ice cream. I heard the doorbell ring. I leashed up Pumpkin, grabbed my bag, and answered it. Standing outside was my friends, and their pets. Qibli had his goat, Cactus. A sloth was sleeping on top of Kinkajou's head. Moon was cradling a black cat, with purple eyes. Turtle had a turtle. What a surprise. What surprised me most was Ash. She was staring down was her phone, and a hawk sat on her shoulder.
"Hi!!!" Kinkajou said, waving at me. "Why do you all have animals?" I asked. Ash rolled her eyes. "It's B.Y.P.T.S day, you dolt." I gave her a questioning look. "BRING YOUR PET TO SCHOOL DAY!" Kinkajou said over enthusiastically. "It was my idea!" "And they said yes?" I asked. "I guess so." Moon said, shrugging.
I sighed, and stepped out the door. We made it to school just as the bell rang.
When we stepped through the door, Mr. Webs was waiting. He gave us a disapproving look. "Detention, all of you." "But-" Kinkajou started. "No buts, Ms. Raingold." Webs replied sourly. I sat down and threw my bag on the floor. Pumpkin raced over to Cactus, but Cactus ignored him.
Webs stood up. "Because of Ms. Raingold, you have to introduce your pets to the class." He said. Without waiting for anything else, Kinkajou sprinted up to the front of the class with her sloth. "Hey, y'all! This is my sloth, Frond. We named her that because we found her in some palm fronds when we visited the rainforest." And so it went on like that. Moon's cat was named Twinkle, Turtle's turtle was named Aqua, and Ash's hawk was called Tana, which meant fire.
The day was very boring, and I was annoyed. When I walked out of the classroom, a girl named Lynx came up to me. "Hi, Winter." She said to me. "What!" I snapped, then grumbled "Sorry." "Want to go to the library?" She asked. "Don't have time." I replied, then walked away.
Kinkajou caught up to me. "Don't walk away, Lynx obvi likes you!" "No she doesn't." I said, then quickened my pace. I came outside, then walked a lap around the school building before heading to detention.
My friends and I walked in and sat down. Ms. Kestrel was up at the front of the room. "Trust me, I don't want to be here as much as you. Just be quiet, for all I care." Qibli started arguing with her, and I ignored them. Soon, detention was over.
When I got outside, I saw Ash and some guy at the back of the school. He pinned her to the wall, and went for her lips. She turned her head away, but he yanked her head back, and planted his lips on hers. I went up to them, and kicked him away. "I can handle my own battles, thank you very much." Ash replied, then promptly punched the guy in the face.
