Demon trees & Anemone

Helloooooo! I am BACK! I am SO sorry it took me so long to update. Consider this story as a late pride month SPECIAL. Enjoy!!! (also, please post any ideas in the comments section, thanks![this is also a few weeks in the future])

Turtle's POV

"I just wanna shiiiiine
Like the sun when it comes up
Run the city from the rooftops
'Cause today's gonna be my daaaay 

I just wanna cliiiimb-"                    

"ANEMONE!!! GET OUT OF THE BATHROOM! THERE ARE one, two, three, FOUR OF US WAITING OUT HERE! STOP SINGING!" Tsunami yelled at Anemone. Anemone was hogging the bathroom while Tsunami, our dad Gill, Auklet and I waited outside the bathroom. 

"Well, I guess I will just have to go to that Justin Timberlake concert by myself, then." Gill said. "NOTAKEMEPLEASEDADDY!" Anemone ran out of the bathroom, and down the hallway screaming, completely missing Gill.

"The bathroom's all yours." Gill said, stepping aside. Just then, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it." I told Gill, and walked to the door. "Hellooooo." Qibli said. "We seem to be a little lost." "We?" Winter snorted from next to him. "You were the one who was supposed to take me to the grocery store!"

"ANYWAYS," Qibli said. "It is wet and muddy and disgusting so can we pleeeeeease come in???" "Sure?" I responded. Qibli ran in, getting muddy footprints everywhere. Winter brushed past me with a haughty, but thankful look.

Anemone's POV

"WHERE IS MY LEI!?" I shouted, coming downstairs. I was wearing my stylish expensive glittery blue Birkenstocks, which were, by the way, millions of dollars. I looked down just in time to avoid several muddy footprints on the floor.

"OMG WHO GOT MUD ALL OVER THE FLOOR!" I shouted. "I ALMOST RUINED MY BRAND NEW STYLISH EXPENSIVE-" "Okay, Okay, we get it." Winter grumbled from the couch. I stalked over to Turtle. "What. Are. They. Doing. Getting. Mud. All. Over. My. Shoes!" Turtle shrugged. "They got lost, and it is horrid outside so..." "Ugh." I sashayed up the stairs and into my bedroom. 

I fiiiinally found my lei hanging in my giant closet, when I heard someone outside the window. I looked over to see Ash, Kinkajou, Moon, and a girl from school named Tamarin. I feel something special about Tamarin, I don't know what. "Come on, Tamarin!" Kinkajou yelled. They were climbing  the big tree outside my window. 

I opened the window and leaned out. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING CLIMBING MY TREE?!" I yelled at them. "Told you this was the wrong tree." Moon said. "There's a demon at the top of it." Ash agreed. "We were not supposed to climb a demon tree."

"What is a demon tree, exactly?" Qibli asked, sticking his head out the back door downstairs. "Does it grow demons?" "Hey, Qibli." Kinkajou said. Tamarin and Moon both gave a little wave.

"Hey Winter and Turtle!" Qibli yelled behind him. "Do you know what a demon tree is?"  "No?" Turtle called back. "I don't even want to know." Winter grumbled. "I don't get why you are all not surprised to see each other here." I yelled down. "I just want you to get off my tree!" 

"You heard her!" Qibli yelled. "Off, off, off!" I rolled my eyes and pulled my head back into my room. Tsunami walked into my bedroom. "What was that all about?" Tsunami asked. "They're being weird." I grumbled. "Anyway," Tsunami said. "This came in the mail for you." She tossed a envelope on my bed and walked out.

I sat down and pulled the card out.

"Tomorrow?" I mumbled to myself. "This came the day before the dance?"

The next day

I walked into the school, smiling. I loved to go to dances. Tsunami was walking beside me. I was wearing a beautiful two piece pink dress.

Tsunami was wearing a long sequined royal blue dress.

I started to walk over to where Trinity was holding hands with Jambu, but then I saw Tamarin over by the snack tables. I changed course to the snack tables. "Hey, Tamarin." I said to her. "Hello, Anemone." She replied. "How are you?" We asked at the same time, then both laughed. "Jinx!" I said. "You owe me a soda." "Nuh uh!" Tamarin replied. "Fineee." I said, drawing out the E. 

"Want to go dance?" Tamarin asked. Tsunami and her friends Sunny and Glory were singing Believer by (you guessed it) Imagine Dragons. "Sure!" I replied. We walked out to the dance floor, doing weird things like the wave and the sprinkler. And for once, I didn't care what people thought about me. I was having fun, and that was all that mattered.

-9:50 pm-

"I had fun tonight." Tamarin told me. "Same here." I blushed. As Tamarin turned to leave, I heaved in a deep breath and said "Tamarin?" "Yeah?" She asked. "I...I like you." Tamarin blushed and smiled. "I like you as well." She took my hand and hugged me. 

I knew tonight would go well.
