"W-where's Jacob?.."

Everyone looked around to realize Jacob wasn't there.

"He was running with us, remember?" Maya asked in a shaky voice.

We all nodded.

"He was there when.. Lola passed away." Sasha continued on.

I gulped down the lump in my throat then realized he wasn't there when we ran after we left Lola behind.

"He must've seen something and defended us and himself." Sidney concluded.

We all nodded to the idea.

We started walking, not really going anywhere. We were trying to get to the police station.

After walking a solid 30 minutes, We heard footsteps faintly.

I looked back and saw nothing.

I shrugged it off as the wind.

A few minutes later I felt like someone was watching me.

I turned my head back to see a man with a hatchet running towards us.

"SHIT, RUN!!" I screamed.

Everyone looked back quickly and started running along with me.

We continued running until Sidney stopped us.

"CMON WE CAN GO IN ONE OF THESE HOUSES."

Harley nodded and grabbed a hair pin from her pocket.

Everyone stood outside the door but a few feet away so he wouldn't see what house we went in.

"Hurry up Harley!" Aaron yelled as he clenched his fists.

"Fuck.." Sidney whispered to herself.

Sidney started charging the man.

"Sidney!" I yelled but she didn't turn back.

She kicked him in the gut, making him collapse.

Sidney started tackling him as Cole Aaron and me ran over to them.

Sasha and Maya stayed behind with Harley.

Everyone watched as they fought each other.

The man continuously kept swinging at Sidney but Sidney was slick and she moved out the way.

But eventually he slashed her leg.

Sidney let out a painful scream but didn't let that stop her.

It was about a 6 inch long cut at the bottom of her leg so her white socks quickly turned dark red.

Sidney tried to kick the man in the face, but the man grabbed her leg and pushed her down.

The man got on top of her in a laying down position and pulled his hatchet up, and let it down with full force.

Sidney was strong enough to grab the hatchet and stop it from slicing her head in two.

Aaron tried to yank the man off of Sidney, but he was too strong and threw him back.

Cole grabbed the man by the collar, only choking him briefly.

The man grabbed Cole by the shirt and threw him over him and Sidney about 6 inches.

The man put more force onto the hatchet, almost slicing Sidney's hand with splinters. Sidney almost gave out before she steered her hand to the right, making him drop his hatchet.

She then used her other hand to rip off the mask he was wearing. I couldn't believe him.

{JOANS POV}

"J-Jacob?.." I mumbled quietly.

Jacob dropped the hatchet and started strangling Sidney.

Cole grabbed the hatchet quickly, then slashed Jacobs shoulder.

Jacob yelped in pain, loosening his grip to Sidney's neck.

Sidney had enough strength to kick Jacob off of him, but she had his blood on her cheek from the liquid dripping down his shoulder.

She got up quickly.

Coke hugged her roughly.

"W-what are you doing?" She asked in shaky breaths.
Sasha ran over.

"I'm distracting him so you can get away.." he hugged Sasha as well.

"B-but you don't need to.."

"I know, but I'm doing it anyway. There's no point to life right now, anyway."

"C-Cole don't.."

"I love you both.." he said, then running towards Jacob, hurdling him in the bushes next to him.

"Cole!" Sidney screamed as she tried to run after him. But Sasha held onto her arm so she couldn't.

"Cmon!" Harley yelled as she swung open the door she had now unlocked with a hair pin.

We all raced back, Sasha pulling Sidney with her.

After everyone got in, Sasha locked the door.

"Let me through!" Sidney protested, trying to move Sasha out her way. Sasha was standing, blocking the door so Sidney couldn't leave.

"Calm down!" She said softly.

Sidney started sobbing. Sasha pulled her into a hug, crying as well.

I couldn't blame them. Their friend just sacrificed himself.

Sidney didn't put her arms up to hug Sasha back though, instead she just stood there, crying softly.

After Sidney calmed down, she sat down on the couch at the very edge.

The house was nice, I suspected the people who lived here already left for summer vacation.

Everyone stood in silence.
