{SIDNEYS POV}
'in the past week there has been 10 murders found, all looking a few hours old. people still don't know who is doing it, but the residents in Salem, Massachusetts are worried that the murders won't stop.'
the news woman then put in a picture of some sketches people found when they saw suspicious activity.
I knew exactly what's happening.
Right when I was about to go, someone called me.
I walked over to the phone and aggressively grabbed it and put it to my ear.
"Hello?" I heard Cole.
"Oh- hi Cole."
"Can you come over to Harley's house? Everyone's here."
"Sure, but what's the problem."
"Well, Joan was getting worried about these murders and I guess everyone's was so they all came here."
"Why is Joan there? And who's them? Them as in Jacob and Maya and Lola?"
"Yeah- why?"
"Since when we're they part of the friend group?" I asked in a irritated voice.
"When was Harley part of our friend group?"
"Fine I'll be there, cya."
—
I got there to see everyone in the living room.
Harley, Sasha and Cole were sitting on the larger couch, Jacob and Aaron were sitting on the couples sofa, Maya on the arm chair, Lola sitting on the floor and Joan leaning on the wall.
"Finally." Maya said in a frustrated tone. I rolled my eyes and looked at a peice of paper on the glass coffee table. It had a sketch of some man.
Lola seemed to be out of it. Usually Lola was energetic and hyper, but now she looked like she needed sleep.
Joan glanced at Lola and back at me. She walked over to the sketch and slid it over to me.
"That's what Lola saw Friday night."
"Yesterday?"
"Yeah.."
I looked at the sketch.
It was of a man who looked like she was in his mid 30s to early 40s, with a scowl on his face. He looked like he was holding an axe.
"You saw this Friday?" I asked Lola.
She nodded softly.
I tried to remember the sketch I saw that morning on the news.
I finally did, and they looked oddly similar.
"What time Friday?"
"Around 11:35." Lola said in a mellow voice.
Everything clicked into place at that very moment.
{JOANS POV}
Sidney nodded quickly and looked at her watch.
"We need to go."
"What? Why?" I asked defensively.
"Do you wanna figure this out or not?"
I got up from leaning on the wall to standing up straight. Sidney ran upstairs and came down with my car keys a few seconds later.
"What the hell are you doing?!" I said in a rather louder tone.
Everyone stopped looking at Sidney like she was crazy to turn their heads to me in suprised faces.
"Did Joan Jones just swear?" Sidney asked jokingly.
I was about to say something but she scoffed and walked out before I could, grabbing her tan one strap bag and putting it over her right shoulder.
Harley Sasha and Cole exchanged looks and walked outside with Sidney.
I ran outside with them as well.
I saw Sidney starting the ignition.
"Sidney! Can you even drive?!"
"No."
"Where are you going?!"
"To figure this shit out, are you coming?"
I sighed in frustration. I grabbed everyone else and we all piled into my car.
—
We got to the library in about 10 minutes cause I'm one of the last houses until town square where the library is.
Sidney hopped out, letting everyone else out.
She threw me my keys and ran inside.
We all followed her in. She seemed to knows where she was going cause she didn't stop to ask the librarian anything.
She stopped in a corner of a hall that looked like no one had cleaned in 5 years. She looked through the sides of the books to see which one could help us.
"What are you looking for?"
"Can you shut up." She answered with annoyance.
Jacob pushed her softly.
Sidney turned around.
"Don't talk to her like that." He said in a mellow tone.
Sidney glared at him.
"Are you trying to intimidate me, Brown? Cause it's not working."
Jacob was about to say something but I lightly pushed his arm, signaling him to leave it alone.
He sighed and rolled his eyes.
Sidney scoffed then looked back to the shelves of books.
Finally she found a book.
She went into another room and opened the book.
Lola leaned over her shoulder.
She flipped to a page that had S on the top of it and pointed to a picture of a man.
Then she opened her bag and grabbed the sketch Lola had drew and put them side to side.
"When did you get that?" Lola asked sounding sensitive.
"Don't worry about it." Sidney said without looking back.
