Dick

I walked into marbles room ready to sort everything out. Marble slept peacefully with her purple silk covers pulled up to her neck. Wally was sat in a chair next to the bed with his head asleep on the bed. Alex was happily asleep in a cot next to the bed.

I went to leave and caught one creaky floorboard. I need to memorize the creaky ones.

"Dick?" Wally said groggily.

"Sorry Wally. Go back to sleep."

"No I'm good. I need to look after them anyway."

"How are you feeling mate?" I asked.

"Terrible. I put her in so much pain. I lost her dick. I don't know if she even wants to be with me still. I feel so dirty. Even though I didn't want to I slept with someone else."

"Wally. That's a lot. Maybe you should talk to a professional."

"Maybe I will. I just love her so much dick. I can't handle losing her for good."

"You won't." Marble whispered fluttering her eyes open.

"Marble!" Wally said going to hug her.

"Wally I'm so sorry. I wish I knew and I wouldn't have treated you like that." She responded hugging him back.

"We need to talk about that. Joker isn't going to be happy. You are both in danger." I said.

"We need to catch him. For good." She said determined.

"Wally move a sec." She said getting up.

"Just be careful." He said going to support her.

"I'm okay. Can someone help get Alex to the main room. I can watch her while researching?"

"Shouldn't you focus on recovering first?" I asked in a confused manor.

"Dick he has hurt me so much at this point if he didn't I'd be worried but he went for my family this time. He hurt Wally and I'm not taking it. I will get him if it kills me." She spoke.

"How about not letting it kill you?" Wally joked. Glad to see he still has humor.

"I suppose since you asked nicely." Marble sassed back. God they bounce back from things quickly.

Marble walked off towards the main room and I grabbed Alex. Wally was supporting Marble because she was so weak. She really suffered these last few days.

"I don't even know where to start." She said realising.

"Let's try and trace movements and transactions/crime reports that fit his MO." I suggested.

"Let's get started." She said sitting down and started typing reading reports of the area.

"I'm gonna take Alex and have some quality time with her. She hasn't had much attention recently." Wally said taking her from me.

"If you need me call." Marble said leaning back over the chair. Wally kissed her and walked off.

"Hey Marbs? You sure you are okay to be doing this?" I asked. She was so void of energy her face seemed to be graying.

"Honestly Dick I have no choice. No like I can rest right now anyway." She said typing furiously.

"Then let's do this quickly." She was just like Bruce. That wasn't a good thing.

Wally

"Hey shall we go swimming?" I asked rhetorically. I changed her into a swimming outfit.

I walked her out to the beach near the cave. It almost seems like her eyes lit up at the sight of the water. I gently laid her in the water keeping good grip on her as she floated. She giggled and cooed so loudly I couldn't help but smile at her.

The waves shifted her slightly as they washed over to the beach. She seemed to love the movement. Maybe it was like a bouncy swing for her. I couldn't let Marble miss this.

*Megan can you hear me?* I tried to connect with Megan on the mindlink. She leaves it open sometimes.

*Yeah you alright?* She asked.

*Send Marble to the beach* I asked her.

Alex just kept giggling not getting over the sea. I can't believe I didn't think to take her before.

"Everything okay Wally?" She asked walking out to the beach.

She looked exhausted but still beautiful. She was wearing a long red maxi dress and some beige sandals. Her hair was tumbling down her shoulders to somehow perfectly form a beautiful framing of her face and body. I'm so lucky she's mine.

"Come see Alex. She's having so much fun." I said inviting her to us.

She lifted her dress up to her hips and paddled to us. Alex seemed to smile wider at the sight of her mum.

"Bless her. She looks so cute. I can't believe she's getting so big. Feels like she was only born yesterday." She said moving some hair out of Alex's face. The water must have displaced it.

"I wish she could have a normal life. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't give her up for the world but I just wonder if there's something else I should be doing. I mean for a few days there I couldn't even take care of her." Marble was holding Alex's hand and brushing her other down my arm.

"You have no idea how lucky she is to have you as her Mum. She is literally the luckiest kid I've ever met. And I'm dating you." I chuckled hugging her.

We all held each other just enjoying the water and the peace. We don't get this often. This is such a nice family.

"Guys. I think I have a lead!" Dick shouted out the side of the door to us.

Marble seemed to snap back into work mode. Her smile dropped of her face and she began wading back towards Dick. Well it was nice while it lasted.
