The Start Of The End

Wally

I sat with marble in her room. She was still crying but not sobbing. Her head was in her knees and her arms were wrapped around her legs. It was scary to see her like this.

"I love you marbs." I said hugging her as much as I could.

"I love you too wally." she said but it came out muffled cause her face was in her thighs.

"it's over you know. Joker is in star labs. He can't get you from there." I told her.

"why do I still feel like this then? I thought it would go away when he was caught. But I still feel so... I can't even describe it. I remember everything so clearly. His smell, his touch and his damn laugh." She said.

"listen marbs, what you went through is traumatising. It won't go away like that. But now he is gone you can focus on healing and loving on this little girl." I said pointing to Alex in her cot.

"I just feel so guilty. Even Alex has suffered. These past few days I've been so focused on me. Maybe I should give her away. I mean joker is gone so she is safe..." I could literally hear the thoughts wizz through her head.

"could you really last a day without seeing her?" I asked knowing that would pull her back in.

"But am I best for her?" she asked tears falling down faster.

"Marble, you are literally the best for her. You calm her down and she yerns for you. You saw what she was like at the beach. We get to watch her grow up into the best person ever." I said hugging her.

Marble got up and hugged Alex. I could see the biggest smile on Alex's face.

"see. You are the best for her."

I got up and hugged them both giving my hand to Alex and she gripped on tightly.

Red alerts began sounding in the cave.

"what's happening?" Marbs asked gripping onto Alex.

"I don't know." I said looking out  into the hallway.

I heard screams all throughout the cave.

"Take Alex into the wardrobe. I'm going to go help." I kissed marbs forehead and lead her to the wardrobe.

"Be safe. I love you." she said hugging Alex close.

"I love you too." I zoomed off to see what was happening.

It was chaos. The injustice league was here attacking the cave. It didn't take long to have the whole team fighting.

"you know. Catching joker was one of the worst things you could do." Harley chuckled.

"oh yeah why's that? miss your boo?" Artemis said drawing her bow back.

"no, joker told us to do something specific if he was caught..."she smirked. Marble.

i zoomed to her room. she was hunched over protecting Alex.

"oh Marbs I was so worried." i went to help her up.

She was cold. Like ice cold. her head was hunched over, i lifted her head by the chin to see a gunshot wound in her head. Alex was just in her arms calm.

"Marble!" i shouted as i sobbed hugging her body. Joker. This was all his fault. he killed her. HE KILLED MARBLE!

Dick

We finally got the league dealt with. Wally went to marbs room ages ago.

I started walking over and I heard cries. That's when I started running.

Wally was hugging marbs in the wardrobe. Alex was crying.

"hey wally, I can take Alex if you two want some time together." wally looked up at me with tears in his eyes. I looked closer at marble and her skin was graying. And there were specks of blood around her body.

"no. No. NO!" I started sobbing. Marble was dead. After all this she was dead.

I picked Alex up and hugged her. Wally wasn't in the right state.

Just like that he zoomed away.

Wally

I'm going to kill him. I don't care anymore. He took her away. He killed her. He killed her in front of Alex. Her damn child. I started running to star labs. He was gonna die and I was gonna be the one to do it.

I got to the cages and had his brought down. His damn laughing.

"I guess they followed my instructions!" he cackled. The doors opened and I grabbed his throat and lifted him up the wall.

"now now speedy. You're a hero." he sputtered out unable to breathe with my hand round his throat.

"not anymore." I closed my grasp on his throat and he went limp.

If only I had done this 2 hours earlier. Id be marble. I would be happy. She would be happy.

Why did he have to do this? Why her? It's always been her
