Chapter 5 (Rewritten)

Eren's POV

As soon as I made my way to my desk where I would be sitting next to Levi, my stomach began to do these twists and turns. Probably because I was so scared of him..and maybe because I slightly found him attractive?

Our classroom was huge, and I had to walk up a set of stairs to get to my seat. We were seated next to the window where I found Levi looking out of. His elbow rested on top of the desk while his chin also rested on his hand. He looked peaceful but I disturbed it when I tried to say hi.

I took a seat and many thoughts were running through my head. I first wanted to apologize to him for being so rude during orientation, but he was a total asshole for grabbing me like that and threatening me. So much for a class president, eh?

I called out to Levi and made eye contact, but before I could finish I was interrupted by a girl running towards Levi. I was dumbfounded by how loud she was until I recognized her as Mikasa's tour guide from this morning.

Since what I was going to say to Levi was cut off short, I slouched in my chair waiting for the teacher to start. It was then that Hange made eye-contact with me with a huge smile across her face. She recognized me and we quickly introduced ourselves before Mr. Spencer made a huge loud to gain everyone's attention. Before Hange left, she gave me a piece of paper with numbers scribbled and quickly said 'text me' before walking to the back of the class. 

I was confused, but I shoved the piece of paper into my pocket as I turned my attention to the front.

Class seemed like it was going by so slow because we were only going over the class rules and expectations. I let out a deep sigh and turned to my right to look through the window, but my attention gazed to Levi on his phone scrolling through whatever. I studied his facial features as he was too focused on his phone. He has a very sharp jawline, and although I can only see one side of his face, it revealed his dull grey eyes with slight dark circles under them. The first time I made eye contact with him, it looked like there was no life in his eyes. I'm not one to judge, though, I barely know him.

But for some reason, I wanted to know him.

I guess I was staring for too long and making it way too obvious, until he looked at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"Oi, what are you staring at", he spat. I quickly faced the front while I felt my cheeks burning up. Definitely embarrassed myself there. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him roll his eyes before giving his attention to his phone.

Suddenly, a notification pops up on my phone and see that someone is trying to airdrop something to me. I scanned the room until I see Hange, who was sitting a few seats behind me, point to her phone to which I assumed that she was the one trying to airdrop something to me.

'You've been staring for way too long there, buddy. I'm just surprised he didn't punch you, cuz he would've with any other person',  the airdropped note said. I looked back at her, not realizing that she was staring at me, or the both of us. She gave me a thumbs up before making a gesture that I should text her.

I sighed, reluctantly took my phone out and the piece of paper she gave me at the same time. And again, out of the corner of my eye, I can see Levi tracking my movements.

'I didn't know it was that obvious I was staring!', I sent the text to Hange and immediately got a text back.

'Talk to him! He's not as scary as you think he is", she replied back to which I scoffed at. I explained to her through text how this morning he threatened to hurt me for talking over him.

'Sounds like him! Don't worry, I'll do something. He'll warm up to you, it takes some time. You should sit with us during lunch!', It took me a minute to think of what to say. Why would I possibly try to get to know him when he has been nothing but an asshole to me.
