Artemis 1

Party

There was a Senior party happening, and Jade could not miss out on that. So Jade went to Melody's house to get ready. What she didn't know was that Artemis is actually living with Melody.

{ Melody's House }

Jade was in Melody's room getting ready with her.

Someone knocked on the door. Melody opened the door.
"Hey Artemis!" Melody said.
"Hey, I saw an extra car outside the house. Isn't that Jade's car?" Artemis asked.
"You know what Jade's car looks like?" Melody asked.
The door wasn't wide open enough for Artemis to see Jade.
"Yeah, she has a white Honda civic with a nice black wing on the back. She also has like these heart headlights which is really cute. And there is this Sakuna finger on her mirror. I'm guessing that's her favorite anime." Artemis said.
"That is actually." Melody said.
"Alright. Anyway, is she here?" Artemis asked.
"Yeah she's in the bathroom." Melody said.
"Alright. I'm guessing she's coming to the Senior Party then." Artemis said.
"Yeah, and you aren't." Melody said.
"I change my mind." Artemis said.
"Is it because of Jade?" Melody asked.
"No...why would you think that?" Artemis asked.
"You two have been hanging out a lot lately." Melody said.
"She has a boyfriend." Artemis said.
"A boyfriend she hates." Melody said.
"And where is your boyfriend?" Artemis asked.
"In my dreams..." Melody said.
"Exactly." Artemis said.
They both laughed. Artemis then left the room and Melody closed the door.
"Looks like Artemis has a thing for you." Melody said.
"No she doesn't." Jade said.
"I know my cousin, and besides. She literally mesmerized your car." Melody said.
"Everyone does." Jade said.
"What do people think of your Sakuna finger on the mirror?" Melody said.
"They didn't even know it was an anime reference until I told them. Only cultured people knew what it was, but it took them awhile to get it." Jade said.
"And Artemis got it right away." Melody said.
"She is very cultured." Jade said.
They both laughed.
"By the way, we're gonna go in Artemis' car all together to and back from the party." Melody said.
Jade nodded and Melody got ready. Once they both were finished they both left their room and saw Artemis waiting.

"You look good cuz!" Melody said.
Jade went up to Artemis. She fixed her necklace.
"There we go. Now you look sharp." Jade said.
"Thanks. You look lovely Jade." Artemis said.
"Thanks." Jade said.
"You two are kinda matching not gonna lie." Melody said.
You stood next to Artemis, facing Melody. Melody took a photo and they all looked at it.
"I guess we do." Artemis said.
"Looks really good not gonna lie." Jade said.
They all smiled. They all then left to the party.

{ Party }

They all walked in. There was loud music and many colorful lights flashing everywhere. It was a really nice house.
"Don't get too drunk Melody." Artemis said.
"I'll try my best not to hehe." Melody said then speeding away.
Jade and Artemis laughed.
"You plan on drinking?" Artemis asked.
"Not too much." Jade said.
"You're too young first of all and second, please don't. I don't wanna be the only one carrying Melody to the car." Artemis said.
They both laughed and walked to the living room together.
"Babe you made it!!" Mark said.
Mark came up to the both of them.
"You came with Artemis?" Mark asked.
"Artemis and Melody." Jade said.
"Gotcha! Anyway, come on let's go see the group!" Mark said.
Mark grabbed Jade's shoulder and they both walked away together. Jade looked behind to Artemis and mouthed "Help me" to her. Artemis giggled and walked away.
Jade sat down next to Mark and his friends and they all started chatting. Jade was just sitting there on her phone. She was already bored. Someone tapped her shoulder. Both her and Mark looked up.
"Hey guys, can I steal Jade for a quick second? Melody is doing something I think Jade can help her with." Artemis said.
Jade got up and left with Artemis. They went into the hall.
"Thank you so much." Jade said.
"You asked for help and you shall receive." Artemis said.
They both laughed.
"Here, take this." Artemis said.
She gave Jade a cup.
"What's this?" Jade asked.
"Pina colada." Artemis said.
"You better not have drugged this." Jade said.
"Now why on earth would I drug you?" Artemis asked.
"Just being careful. Melody got her drink drugged before so I'm just being careful." Jade said.
"Yeah she told me all about that. Thank god you were there to save her before things got worse." Artemis said.
"Just looking out for her that's all." Jade said.
They clinked cups and drank.
"I can tell you don't like parties." Jade said.
"Like I said, I dislike socializing unless I have to." Artemis said.
"Same here." Jade said.
"I thought you love to socialize. You practically know everyone at the school." Artemis said.
"Only because I join many clubs. I have to keep up a good image. It's for my family." Jade said.
"You're family?" Artemis said.
"Let's go somewhere more quiet and private." Jade said.

{ Empty room }

Jade entered and Artemis followed. Artemis closed and lock the door. Jade sat down on the bed and Artemis sat on a chair in front of the bed.
"My family went to Coast High back then. They are high school sweethearts. Everyone said both my mom and dad are perfect. They both are very smart, hardworking, good-looking, everything. That's because their siblings went to Coast High as well. My family practically has been living here at Costa for years. And since the school knew me cause of my last name and my parents coming with me for Freshmen orientation, I have to be like them." Jade said.
"So, you're forcing yourself to be like them." Artemis said.
"More like being pressured to by the staff and my family. Besides, I have to live up to a good reputation for my future. My future is already planned out and I have to live up to it." Jade said.
"And that is?" Artemis asked.
"Be the next CEO of my family's company." Jade said.
"I cannot see you as a CEO whatsoever." Artemis said.
"You can't?" Jade asked.
"Nope. I see you as someone who likes to take care of people, like a nurse." Artemis said.
"I want to be a vet actually! I love animals." Jade said.
"That is exactly what I see you. You should go for it." Artemis said.
"I want to badly. But my parents have build me up to where I am now." Jade said.
"I'm gonna tell you something I never tell anyone. My parents hate who I am. My family isn't proud of who I became. But I honestly didn't care because I'm doing this for my happiness." Artemis said.
"What do you mean?" Jade asked.
"My parents want me to become a lawyer. But I want to become an engineer." Artemis said.
"I can see you as an engineer. But a lawyer? What the fuck haha." Jade said.
"I know right! It's so stupid." Artemis said.
Jade took off her jacket due to the heat in the room. Her necklace suddenly came off.
"Oh shoot." Jade said.
"I'll put it on for you." Artemis said.
Artemis got up and helped Jade with her necklace.
"You smell really good." Jade said.
"Thanks. It's my cologne." Artemis said.
"You wear cologne?" Jade asked.
"Yeah. I like the smell of cologne more than perfume. Your perfume smells really nice though." Artemis said.
"Thank you." Jade said.
"She's really close to me and she smells amazing. Also her skin is like very clear and I need to know her skincare routine. Why is my heart suddenly beating really fast?" Jade thought.
Artemis backed off.
"There you go. Looks nice." Artemis said.
"Thanks." Jade said.
"You think you can get me another pina colada?" Jade asked."
"Sure thing. I need another drink too haha. Give me your cup." Artemis said.
Jade gave her the cup and Artemis left. Jade got up and opened the window. She really needed that fresh air.
"Jade, you have a boyfriend alright. Let's not think anything else. Your boyfriend loves you a lot. And so do you..." Jade thought.
After a while Artemis knocked on the door. Jade opened it, let her in, then closed it.
"You opened the window?" Artemis asked.
"Yeah it was getting really hot in here." Jade said.
"It sure was haha." Artemis said.
Artemis gave Jade the cup and she drank it.
"How long are we planning to stay here at the party?" Artemis asked.
"Since we have to watch over Melody, a pretty long time." Jade said.
"Well she's dancing on top of a table in the kitchen right now." Artemis said.
"Do you want to get her now or later when she blacks out?" Jade asked.
"She's already embarrassed herself enough. Let's just wait till she's blacked out. So then we don't have to embarrass ourselves." Artemis said.
"Preach." Jade said.
They both laughed.
