Hope's PoV

According to married individuals, marriage marks the beginning - the start of a family - and signifies a lifelong commitment.

It offers an opportunity for personal growth through selflessness in caring for one's spouse and children.

Marriage is not merely a physical union but also a spiritual and emotional bond.

I finally found my soulmate - Josette Olivia Mikaelson.

People often say that love and trust are the most compelling reasons to marry your beloved. Well, Josie and I have both love and trust in abundance.

We take immense pride in each other and prioritize what's best for us. Our relationship is built on mutual appreciation, respect, and deep understanding, surpassing superficial connections.

Flashback:

The night sky blurred past us as we sat in the back of a sleek black car with tinted windows. Streetlights flickered by like shooting stars, bright and hopeful.

I held Josie's hand, intertwining my fingers with hers, and reached for a bottle of champagne from the ice bucket before us.

The limousine driver remained quiet and professional, understanding that we were newlyweds still in our wedding attire.

Releasing Josie's hand, I retrieved two champagne flutes and asked, "Mrs. Mikaelson, care for another drink?"

"I'm already feeling quite tipsy," Josie mused. "But tonight calls for celebration, so why not."

I chuckled softly and poured us more champagne. Sipping the bubbly liquid, I savored the remainder of our journey.

As we finished our drinks, the driver pulled up to the hotel. We thanked him generously before heading to a honeymoon suite more lavishly than necessary.

Pausing at the door, I grinned at Josie. "Mrs. Mikaelson, although this isn't our final honeymoon destination, tonight marks our first night as a married couple. May I?"

She giggled softly. "Of course you may." I lifted her into my arms and carried her across the threshold.

Inside, the room was expansive and pristine, adorned with scattered rose petals on the carpet and bed. The purple sheets were immaculately arranged, and the pillows perfectly plump.

Setting Josie down gently on the bed, I leaned in to kiss her. "I'm going to step out onto the balcony for a smoke, okay?"

"Whatever you'd like," she replied with a playful wink.

Turning away, I retrieved a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from my suit pocket. I pushed open the balcony doors and stepped outside, the curtains partially shielding Josie from view inside.

Josie's PoV

Thank God. I needed a moment to ready myself.

I found my suitcase in the corner of the closet. Maya arranged our belongings that we needed for our trip. The bellhop, who had access to our room, brought it in here.

I kept myself from rushing while I pulled the lingerie out of my bag, which I had purposely placed on top of everything else.

I went into the bathroom and shut the door behind myself. It wasn't too difficult to take off my wedding dress; I had chosen a simple, elegant design that allowed me both tradition and personality.
