Lakshman protects his brother and sister-in-law day and night. One day some residents of a nearby village come to Ram for his help.

Ram asks "What's wrong?"

The village head replies "our village is being attacked by demons. We need someone to save our children and women."

"Go ahead and bring your women and children here. My wife Sita will take care of them while I and my Bhai take care of the demons," Ram says to the village head.

The village head brings all the women and children to the hut of Ram and Sita looks after them while Ram along with Lakshman deal with the demons.

In the distance, Shurpanakha watches Ram and his brother. Soon she is head over heels in love with Ram.

After Ram returns to his hut with Lakshman and the villagers return, Shurpanakha goes up to Ram and says "who are you? What are you doing here in this forest full of demons?"

"I am Ram, prince of Ayodhya. I was exiled, Devi. I came here with my younger brother and wife Sita," Ram answers

"I am in love with you o Warrior. Will you marry me?" Shurpanakha asks

"Devi I am not sure if you heard but I said I came here with my wife. I am already married," Ram says his smile disappearing from his face slowly

"Doesn't matter. I will be happy as your second wife too," Shurpanakha says adamantly that she wants to marry Ram

"Look Devi, if I marry you, Devi, you will not be happy as all my love and attention will be towards my first wife. However, my brother Lakshman here has come alone. He is equally handsome. Why don't you ask him to marry you?" Ram says and he gets out of the sticky situation

"You are also handsome," Shurpanakha says turning to Lakshman.

After talking with Lakshman and going between Ram and Lakshman she gets frustrated.

"This is all Sita's fault. If I kill her then I will be able to marry you," Shurpanakha says and lunges at Sita who came out to see what the commotion was

Lakshman gets furious and throws his knife at the demoness and cuts off her ears and nose. Crying at what happened Shurpanakha goes to Ravan and says "Bhai, look what Ram and Lakshman have done to me,"

Enraged at the two princes Ravan decides to get revenge. Shurpanakha also tells him about Sita and he decides to capture her to get his revenge.
