The Flowers Bloom Once More

I Apologize For the Bad News

Mikey sat uncomfortablely on the bed that reaked of the hospital, his sister sitting in the chair beside the bed.

"Can we go? I don't  see why you are so paranoid."

Emma looked at her brother, tears in her eyes.

"I want to make sure your ok."

"I am ok, a petal probably landed in my hand from a woman who passed by me when I coughed. Just a coincidence. I didn't  swallow a bunch of petals."

"That's  not what I am getting at Mikey....there is a disease  that's  been going around. It caused flower petals and actually flowers to grow inside you lungs, slowly killing you."

Mikey felt his body tensed up. Unfortunately he was unable to question Emma before a woman entered the room, holding a clipboard in one hand containing information she was, to tell to the siblings.

"Miss Sano, you brought your brother in because you think he has the Hanahaki Disease correct?"

Emma nodded slightly.

"If I could. I ask that you let me take him for some tests."

" Just plz make sure he's ok."

The doctor nodded and took Mikey with her to run tests and then brought him back to the room where  Emma and Mikey awaited the results.

The door burst opened around 20 minutes after Mikey had arrived from the tests. Through the door ran Mitsuya and Baji.

Emma looked at Mikey, " Did you text them? I didn't tell them we were here."

" Yes I told them you forced me here against my will when I'm perfectly fine."

Mitsuya and Baji went to Emma with worried expressions.

"Is Mikey ok? Draken is on his way here too and wants to know ahead of time what's going on."

Mikey felt his chest tighten and began coughing. The other 3 jerked their heads to look at the tiny male blonde.

His coughing fit seemed to not seize. That was until 3 wisteria petals fell onto the white bed.

Baji, Mitsuya, and Emma froze in absolute horror. All were familiar  with the newfound disease that had been killing quite a bit of people.

"No....we need the doctors here now, he's  getting that surgery."

" Baji are you crazy!? Mikey can't  get the surgery!"

Baji looked furious when he turned to Mitsuya.

"Would you rather him die!?"

Mitsuya looked at the ground and uttered a few words.

"Mikey.....who do you love."

The boy in question  felt his cheeks heat up and looked away to hide his flushed cheeks.

" I- um.... Ken-chin"

Mitsuya immediately  got his phone and dialed Draken's number, cursing under his breath and waiting for Draken to pick up.

"Hey, any updates?"

Mitsuya calmed himself the best he could," Yes he's  fine, Emma had mistaken  something. Just has a small cold, nothing more. He'll be leaving soon so no point in coming all the way here."

"You sure?."

"Yeah, don't  worry. He's good to go."

"Alright, see you guys tomorrow  then. Bye."

" Bye Draken."

With that, Mitsuya hung up and sighed with full relief.

Of course the doctor had perfect timing when entering the room with a concerned look on her face and then turned to the 3 men and woman.

"It appears that Mister Sano does indeed  have the Hanahaki Disease. All I can say now is, What would you like to do?"

"Give him the su-"

Mikey cut Emma off and looked seriously at the doctor.

"I don't want to do anything for the time being. Let me go home."

The woman in front of him seemed slightly taken back by what he had said but then calmed herself and nodded.

"If that is what you wish then I will go organize everything for you to leave."

She then turned to leave, once she exited the room. Mikey then felt a strong grip on the collar of his shirt and saw Baji looked furious and upset.

"What was that about! Why would you choose to do nothing! Mikey, have to you lost your mind!? You know what the disease can do!"

All Mikey did was give a small smile and nod, "I don't care what it does to me, if I go. Then I will go loving Ken-chin. That's what I want."
