"Where were you that night?"

"What are you talking about?" She popped a mesmerizing blueberry into her mouth.

"You called me when he didn't show up", he explained.

"Yeah, and? What your point?"

"We were supposed to meet up", he paused and appraised her. "But you were late".

"Are you implying that I'm usually punctual?" She cocked her head to the side and gave him an easy, almost lazy smirk.

"Why were you late?" He pressed. "You said you were close to the coffeeshop".

"So I took a little walk, wanted to stretch my long, attractive legs", the smirk remained. "Big deal". Her reaction said it all, she was not interested in this conversation.

"You were an hour late", he continued.

"So what?" She raised an eyebrow in defiance.

"What are you getting at?" The dark-haired male asked, his interest was finally piqued. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow, as if he were asking her to explain herself.

"Billy disappeared and now we know why", he glanced at Billy for a moment before his eyes turned to rest on the attractive blonde. "But you, you weren't around", he continued. "Maybe we should've been looking at you instead".

~

"Billy, the trunk". She gestured towards the back end of the car.

"Got it", he nodded his head as he pressed the button on the car key. "Stu, help me with this".

"Oh come on", Stu groaned. "Not again, my back hasn't recovered from the last one". He rubbed his forehead. "And my head is killing me", he continued to whine as he glanced back at Randy, the cause of his first injury on this dark and fruitful night.

"Shut the hell up and help me carry this", Billy said through gritted teeth. He was barely able to contain his impatience towards Stu's antics.

"Fineee", Stu groaned as he walked towards the trunk of the car like a little child who had been scolded just mere seconds ago.

"How long do you think this is going to take?" Tatum asked the other blonde as she examined her freshly manicured nails.

"An hour, tops", she added an encouraging smile.

"How can you be so sure?" Tatum countered.

"Five against one", she quirked an eyebrow. "It's logic".

"I guess", Tatum agreed finally.

"Ready?" Billy asked Stu.

"Ready", Stu confirmed.

"Alright", the blonde said. "Let's put this thing to bed".

"Amen to that", Randy agreed.

~

"It's awfully quiet around here", Tatum shivered.

"A most advantageous occurrence", Randy said.

It was an unnerving visual, five reapers gingerly walking the streets of a quiet, affluent, residential neighborhood at the dead of night, midnight to be exact. Three walked ahead of the group and the remaining two carried a heavily mutilated body. It was silent, not a pin drop could be heard. The streets were dark and solemn. The lights were dimmed. The houses were resting. No one was awake, everyone had given in to the sandman's undeniable magic.
