I Had a Dream Last Night

Dear Diary,

Last night, something weird happened to me.

Something strange happened to me in my dream. It felt real, as if I was actually there, yet I was terrified at the same time.

I was finishing my research paper, that's why I slept late last night. And as soon as my body touched the sheets, I was already asleep.

I met a man. He was dashing... He's almost the definition of perfection in my eyes. With a smile on his face, he greeted me.

We met in a downtown cafe. He said that he was waiting for someone and that there were no other seats available, so he asked if he could sit at my table with me.

I'm not sure what came into me, but I was so engrossed in his electric blue eyes that I answered in a way that made me shudder. I believe I sounded and appeared to be a love-sick fool.

Anyone who saw him, though, would think and respond the same way I did.

We talked a lot about the weather, what I do, and where I'm from—I didn't give him my whole address, of course. After a lot of talking about me, I asked things about him.

I must admit that I am drawn to such beauty. When he asked for my phone number, I handed my phone to him so he could copy it. Our fingertips accidentally touched, and believe me, it sent a million electric shocks through my body.

I felt as if I'd had a heart attack in the middle of the day.

I returned home, thinking the day had been a fairytale for me, and as I was about to fall asleep, I woke up.

I woke up in my bed, exactly where I had left off. It was all a dream, I realized.

It's not every day that I dream of a man.

I was quite disappointed. That was it, I thought. I'd been looking for the man of my dreams for a long time, and I'd finally found him...

But... In fact, he was the man in my dreams.
